Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for hierarchical sparse dictionary learning (“HiSDL”) to construct a learned dictionary regularized by an a priori over-complete dictionary, includes providing at least one a priori over-complete dictionary for regularization, performing sparse coding of the at least one a priori over-complete dictionary to provide a sparse coded dictionary, using a processor, updating the sparse coded dictionary with regularization using at least one auxiliary variable to provide a learned dictionary, determining whether the learned dictionary converges to an input data set, and outputting the learned dictionary regularized by the at least one a priori over-complete dictionary when the learned dictionary converges to the input data set. The system and method includes, when the learned dictionary lacks convergence, repeating the steps of performing sparse coding, updating the sparse coded dictionary, and determining whether the learned dictionary converges to the input data set.

Abstract: A system and method for detecting sensitive user input leakages in software applications, such as applications created for smartphone platforms. The system and method are configured to parse user interface layout files of the software application to identify input fields and obtain information concerning the input fields. Input fields that contain sensitive information are identified and a list of sensitive input fields, such as contextual IDs, is generated. The sensitive information fields are identified by reviewing the attributes, hints and/or text labels of the user interface layout file. A taint analysis is performed using the list of sensitive input fields and a sink dataset in order to detect information leaks in the sensitive input fields.

Abstract: Methods and systems for embedding VI demands in a software-defined network include mapping virtual nodes over physical nodes in a network topology. An auxiliary graph including virtual links between physical nodes that have a residual capacity sufficient to meet a virtual infrastructure demand is constructed. Virtual links over physical links are mapped to maximize use of existing optical channels and to minimize switching of a virtual link between a wavelength division multiplexing layer and an IP layer. New optical channels with a maximum spectral efficiency are established. A set of potential solutions for embedding a set of virtual infrastructure demands is determined. A solution is selected from the set of potential solutions that maximizes a weighted average of spectrum needed to support the set of virtual infrastructure demands and a cost of provisioning the virtual infrastructure demands.

Abstract: Systems and methods for voltage control in an energy distribution system (EDS), including measuring voltage and current at a node in the EDS where a Grid Energy Storage (GES) device is located. A simplified equivalent of the EDS is generated by identifying parameters for the equivalent and calculating phasors corresponding to the measured voltage and current. At least one of a voltage stability index or a voltage sensitivity factor of the EDS is calculated using the equivalent, and at least one of charging or discharging of the EDS is adjusted based on at least one of the voltage stability index or the voltage sensitivity factor to regulate and stabilize voltage of the EDS.

Abstract: Methods and systems for pruning a convolutional neural network (CNN) include calculating a sum of weights for each filter in a layer of the CNN. The filters in the layer are sorted by respective sums of weights. A set of m filters with the smallest sums of weights is filtered to decrease a computational cost of operating the CNN. The pruned CNN is retrained to repair accuracy loss that results from pruning the filters.

Abstract: Methods and a system are provided for enhanced long-term evolution scheduling. A ranking is constructed for one or more users scheduled on one or more resource blocks. A layer mapping is generated, using a finite modulation and coding scheme, utilizing the ranking of each of the one or more users for the one or more resource blocks. An enhanced ranking is determined, using a finite constraint on a buffer for each of the one or more users, for the one or more resource blocks utilizing the layer mapping. The enhanced ranking is deployed into a schedule for the one or more resource blocks being utilized by each of the one or more users. Bandwidth usage is optimized in the one or more resource blocks by utilizing the schedule.
