摘要: Methods and systems for determining traffic information for devices along one or more routes are described. A content server may send a message to a plurality of devices along a route. The message may comprise an indication requesting each of the devices to send, to the content server, status information regarding the respective device. Intermediary devices may receive the message, respond with the requested information, and forward the message through the route. The message may comprise a stateless messaging protocol message such as an ICMP or UDP packet.

摘要: A computer-implemented method for processing a data packet in a network node includes determining a level of deterioration of a primary path between the network node and the destination node. The determined level of deterioration is based at least on a non-congestion-related loss for a primary link associated with one or more subsequent hops of the data packet from the network node toward the destination node along the primary path. Based on the determined level of deterioration of the primary path being above a threshold, the primary path is changed to an alternate path from the network node to the destination node. The data packet is forwarded to a next network node on the alternate path.

摘要: A software defined networking (SDN) controller or routers in a network determine unicast paths from an ingress router to egress routers from the network based on quality-of-service (QoS) metrics for links between routers of the network. A subset of the unicast paths is associated with a multicast flow based on one or more QoS criteria for the multicast flow. A router pushes a label stack onto a packet of the multicast flow. The label stack includes labels that identify the subset of the unicast paths. The packet including the label stack is multicast through the network to the egress routers. Routers that receive the multicast packet selectively modify the label stack in the packet based on the labels that identify the subset of the unicast paths. The routers selectively forward the packet based on the labels.

摘要: An optimizing agent of a network device that does not support low latency DOCSIS can identify traffic or packets associated with a client resource for an optimization service flow. For example, the optimizing agent can receive a priority notification associated with a client resource from a low latency controller that is indicative of a low latency requirement associated with the client resource. The optimizing agent identifies the traffic for the optimized service flow based on the priority notification. The identifying can require modifying one or more parameters of an existing service flow, creating a new service flow, or selecting an existing service flow with low latency. The identified traffic can be routed to the optimized service flow to achieve low latency or high QoS.

摘要: Some embodiments provide novel methods for performing services for machines operating in one or more datacenters. For instance, for a group of related guest machines (e.g., a group of tenant machines), some embodiments define two different forwarding planes: (1) a guest forwarding plane and (2) a service forwarding plane. The guest forwarding plane connects to the machines in the group and performs L2 and/or L3 forwarding for these machines. The service forwarding plane (1) connects to the service nodes that perform services on data messages sent to and from these machines, and (2) forwards these data messages to the service nodes. In some embodiments, the guest machines do not connect directly with the service forwarding plane. For instance, in some embodiments, each forwarding plane connects to a machine or service node through a port that receives data messages from, or supplies data messages to, the machine or service node. In such embodiments, the service forwarding plane does not have a port that directly receives data messages from, or supplies data messages to, any guest machine. Instead, in some such embodiments, data associated with a guest machine is routed to a port proxy module executing on the same host computer, and this other module has a service plane port. This port proxy module in some embodiments indirectly can connect more than one guest machine on the same host to the service plane (i.e., can serve as the port proxy module for more than one guest machine on the same host).

摘要: A method may include identifying an address within a packet of a traffic flow associated with a network device. The method may also include comparing the address within the packet with a stored address, the stored address associated with a route for an alternative traffic path, where the alternative traffic path may be different from a default route of traffic passing through the network device. The method may additionally include, based on the address within the packet matching the stored address, routing the packet along the alternative traffic path instead of the default route of traffic.

摘要: Methods for dynamic routing of queued network-based communications using real-time information and machine learning are performed by systems and devices. Requests associated with fulfillments are received over a network from requestor systems, and the requests are queued in a data structure of a queue. Information that includes geolocation information from a user device of a user that is associated with the fulfillment, temporal information from the user device, or related request information associated with another request is then received over the network, and a fulfiller and a fulfillment time for the fulfillment are determined from the information. The request is provided from the queue to the fulfiller at the fulfillment time over the network.

摘要: A link locating assisting device in a wireless communication network (10) obtains search limitation data concerning the wireless communication network and sends the search limitation data (SLD) to the wireless terminal (12) via a serving network node (14) and a serving link (SLK) for use in obtaining limitations for limiting a search for a set of candidate links (CLK1, CLK2, CLK3). The wireless terminal (12) obtains the search limitation data (SLD), sets limitations for a link search based on the search limitation data, search for candidate links starting with a current link search setting used with the serving link (SLK), and continues searching for candidate links with an offset from the current link search setting that grows with every search until the search limitations have been met.
