摘要: Systems and methods are provided for encoding raw image content encoded using one or more virtual intra-frames. In an exemplary method, a stream of video content may be encoded to generate compressed video data that includes an intra-flame and a plurality of corresponding inter-frames. The compressed video data may be stored within a buffer, and when the amount of data in the buffer exceeds a threshold value, a virtual intra-frame may be computed based on decoded inter-frame data. The virtual intra-frame may be output for storage in the buffer.

摘要: A method of adaptively disabling deblock filtering of video information including determining a content characteristic of the video information, and adaptively disabling deblock filtering of the video information based on the content characteristic. The content characteristic may be a content complexity, such as an average of minimum sums of absolute differences of pixel values determined during motion estimation, or the mean square error of the video information, or the number of bits used for coding the video content. The content characteristic may be other than complexity, such as motion vector information. A video information processing system including a video processing circuit which processes video information and which determines a content characteristic of the video information, and a deblocking filter circuit which adaptively disables deblock filtering of the video information based on the content characteristic.

摘要: This disclosure describes techniques for communicating optimal coding parameters between a source device and a sink device. The sink device may receive, in a bitstream, video data and a group of one or more supplemental enhancement information (SEI) messages, wherein each SEI message comprises indications of a set of display capabilities and a set of remapping parameters. The sink device may then, for each SEI message of the group of one or more SEI messages, compare the respective set of display capabilities indicated in the respective SEI message with a target set of display capabilities for the sink device. Responsive to determining that a first set of display capabilities indicated by a first SEI message is compatible with the target set of display capabilities, the sink device may adapt the video data using a respective set of remapping parameters indicated by the first SEI message.

摘要: Several techniques aimed at reducing computational complexity when encoding uses bi-predictively encoded frames (B-frames) are implemented in a video encoder. In an embodiment, B-frames are not used as reference frames for encoding P-frames and other B-frames. Non-use of B-frames allows a de-blocking filter used in the video encoder to be switched off when reconstructing encoded B-frames, and use of a lower complexity filter for fractional-resolution motion search for B-frames. In another embodiment, cost functions used in motion estimation for B-frames are simplified to reduce computational complexity. In one more embodiment, fractional pixel refinement in motion search for B-frames is simplified. In yet another embodiment, predictors used in motion estimation for a macro-block in a P-frame are selected from a B-frame that uses a same reference frame as the P-frame.

A method of complexity scalability for a video processing system using prioritized layered coding including determining a power saving factor based on one or more metrics, such as power capacity and/or available processing capacity, and reducing processing complexity of multiple prioritized coding functions in a predetermined order of priority based on the level of the power saving factor. A video processing system including a power management circuit which determines the power saving factor and a video encoder system which correspondingly adjusts computation complexity.

摘要: A method for transmitting encoded media data on the basis of a layer model includes dividing the media data onto a basic layer and at least one additional enhanced layer, transmitting the basic layer and the at least one enhanced layer via at least two network accesses, selecting a first network access to transmit the basic layer that has a network quality and/or stability that is sufficient for transmitting the basic layer; and selecting at least one second network access from among the network accesses depending upon the bandwidth of the first network access and the quality and stability of the network accesses for transmitting the at least one enhanced layer. An apparatus can be configured to execute the method. In some embodiments, the apparatus can include a communication system, a server computer device and/or a mobile terminal.

摘要: One exemplary video encoding method has the following steps: determining a size of a parallel motion estimation region according to encoding related information; and encoding a plurality of pixels by at least performing motion estimation based on the size of the parallel motion estimation region. One exemplary video decoding method has the following steps: decoding a video parameter stream to obtain a decoded size of a parallel motion estimation region; checking validity of the decoded size of the parallel motion estimation region, and accordingly generating a checking result; when the checking result indicates that the decoded size of the parallel motion estimation region is invalid, entering an error handling process to decide a size of the parallel motion estimation; and decoding a plurality of pixels by at least performing motion estimation based on the decided size of the parallel motion estimation region.
