摘要: A signal processing apparatus that enables while a significant video signal is not being output, a stream that is decoded to a black picture signal is output along with a base band signal that causes a block picture to be displayed. The signal is reproduced, as an MPEG stream. The MPEG stream is input to a first input terminal of a switch. The MPEG stream is supplied to a black stream generating circuit. A non-signal detector detects a non-signal state of the stream. In a non-signal period, a second input terminal of the switch is selected. A stream generator generates a black stream that causes a black screen to be displayed, which is input to the second input terminal of the switch, and is obtained from a stream output terminal through a switch.

摘要: Moving picture motion compensation coding/decoding predicts a motion vector in a coding block from a motion vector of the adjacent position and codes a differential motion vector calculated from the motion vector to be coded and its prediction motion vector. The coding is performed by switching the coding accuracy between a coding accuracy of the differential motion vector (1) and a coding accuracy of the prediction motion vector and the coding motion vector (2) for each block. Moreover, when decoding the motion vector from the differential motion vector coded by the aforementioned coding, a reversed processing with respect to the coding is performed.

摘要: When a non-error-resilient application decoder receives a data stream containing syntax error due to transmission errors, such as packet losses in wireless communication, an application decoder cannot usually continue decoding the stream data anymore. According to the present invention, the data stream containing syntax error along with error correction data generated by error-detectable transmission system is inputted into an error correction part before inputted into the application decoder. The error correction part detects the error position in the data stream using the error detection data, corrects the syntax error in the stream data, and generates a stream data which is possible to be decoded by the application decoder. As a result, the data stream containing syntax error can continue decoding or be decoded in better quality by a non-error-resilient application decoder, without adding any error correcting function in the existing application decoder.

摘要: A brake apparatus has two switching elements in an initial check function section, and detects a broken wiring failure of an actuator by turning on only one of the two switching elements. Therefore, during the initial check, a drive current does not flow through the actuator. Thus, it becomes possible to perform the initial check without operating the actuator. By making it possible to perform the initial check without operating the actuator in this manner, it becomes possible to prevent occurrence of the problem of rush current occurring when the actuator is operated for a short time and the problem of the switching elements being destroyed.

摘要: Conventionally there has been a case that the direct mode cannot be applied effectively depending on the block. With such being the case, information indicating whether a backward reference frame set by default can be utilized in the direct mode is provided to a decoder. A switching procedure to switch to a compensation method applicable when a collocated block has no forward motion vector for effective use, and the compensation method are also provided to the decoder. Thus, it is possible to clearly determine whether the reference frame can be used in the direct mode. Further, when the frame number has no time information, it is possible to effectively send information indicating the relationship between the reference frame and the current frame. Furthermore, the alternative mode and its switching procedure of the present invention make it possible to improve the prediction performance when the direct mode cannot be applied.

摘要: A method of coding a moving picture includes dividing a picture into a plurality of blocks, and selectively performing one of global motion compensation processing and local motion compensation processing on each of the blocks to obtain predictive errors for the block, orthogonally transforming the predictive errors to obtain orthogonal transform coefficients, and quantizing the orthogonal transform coefficients using a quantizing parameter. Which type of motion compensation processing is performed for each block is determined based on a result of comparing evaluation values for the two types of motion compensation processings with each other. The evaluation values are calculated based on (1) a sum of absolute values of predictive errors for the block obtained when the type of compensation processing is performed on the block and (2) a value determined by the quantizing parameter.

摘要: Method and apparatus for performing data conversion between first-format encoded data in which orthogonal transform coefficients are arranged in an order of DC components and AC components from a low spatial frequency order to a high spatial frequency order in each orthogonal transform block when compression encoding which includes orthogonal transform is applied to video data and second-format encoded data in which orthogonal transform coefficients are arranged in an order of DC components and AC components from a low spatial frequency order to a high spatial frequency order in each block assembly member formed of a plurality of orthogonal transform blocks when compression encoding which includes orthogonal transform is applied to video data. The second-format encoded data may be decoded to obtain orthogonal transform coefficients which may be re-arranged from a low spatial frequency order to a high spatial frequency order in each orthogonal transform block of the first format. Such orthogonal transform coefficients may be encoded to form encoded data having the first format.
