    摘要: A dripless syringe for dispensing a material such as glue, caulking, cement, foods, cosmetics, paint, oil, pharmaceuticals; etc., and any other materials suitable for dispensing thereby. The syringe plunger includes a generally hemispherically-shaped piston portion for pushing the material out of the syringe. Except for the piston portion, the plunger slides easily within a barrel of the syringe. In operation, the hemispherical piston portion is deformed during dispensing, but returns to its original shape after dispensing is finished. Upon returning to its original shape, the piston portion stops further dispensing of the material from the syringe.

    摘要: A method of curing a liquid silicone composition to a crosslinked polymer on a substrate having shadow areas no readily accessible to direct UV light, the method comprising:(a) applying a liquid composition to the substrate in a manner so as to cover both the light accessible and the shadow areas, the composition comprising a radical photoinitiator and a crosslinkable polydihydrocarbylsiloxane prepolymer having a molecular weight of at least 1000, having a plurality of acrylate or methacrylate groups bound thereto and further including a plurality of groups of the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is a hydrolyzable organic group and R.sup.2 is R.sup.1 or, if R.sup.1 is dialkylamino, R.sup.2 is R.sup.1 or hydrocarbyl;(b) irradiation the substrate with UV irradiation sufficient to substantially cure the composition in the areas directly accessible to UV light, and(c) exposing the composition on the substrate to moisture for sufficient time to cure the composition in the shadow areas. Suitable polydihydrocarbyl siloxanes have the formula: ##STR2## where n is an integer, R.sup.1 is selected from amino, oxime or --OOCR.sup.3, R.sup.2 is R.sup.1 or hydrocarbyl, provided that when R.sup.1 is not amino, R.sup.2 is the same as R.sup.1, R.sup.3 is hydrocarbyl, R.sup.4 is H or methyl, R.sup.5 is a organo group having a carbon atom bound to the adjacent silicon atom and R.sup.6 is a hydrocarbyl group, said prepolymer having a molecular weight of at least 1,000.

    摘要: Silicone urethane compounds, e.g., a polysiloxane urethane (meth)acrylate, obtained as a reaction product of a polysiloxane carbinol, a polyisocyanate, and a polyfunctional compound having at least one functional group which is reactive with an isocyanate group of the polyisocyanate and after reaction therewith provides an ethylenic functional group in the reaction product. The polysiloxane carbinol has a molecular weight of from about 5,000 to about 50,000 and has R'OH end groups wherein R' is linear C.sub.4 -C.sub.20 alkylene. Such carbinol may be obtained as a reaction product of the corresponding hydride-terminated polysiloxane and a linear C.sub.4 -C.sub.20 .omega.-alkenyl alcohol. The hydride-terminated polysiloxane in turn may be obtained as a reaction product of either (i) the corresponding silanol of molecular weight at least 10,000 and a hydridosilane having one or more hydrolyzable groups attached to the silicon atom, or (ii) a cyclosiloxane and a 1,3-dihydrido disiloxane.The disclosed compounds may be utilized in adhesive compositions for substrates including bonding surfaces such as glass, and polymers and copolymers of ethylenically unsaturated monomers. The bonding of such substrates may suitably be carried out at least partially under anoxic conditions, e.g., with elevated temperature and/or actinic radiation curing of the bonding composition in a substantially oxygen-free environment. A preferred vacuum degassing/anoxic curing process is disclosed for such bonding compositions, which is particularly advantageous for difficult to bond substrates, such as low density polyethylene.

    摘要: An electrically conductive adhesive composition effective for repairing discontinuities in the electrically conducting metal lines of rear window defoggers is disclosed. The composition comprises (a) an acrylic ester polymer resin (b) a metallic pigment and (c) an organic pigment.The composition is applied as a solid solution to the interrupted section of the metal line to bridge the gap in the line and the solvent is evaporated leaving an electrically conductive bridging layer which restores electrical flow to the line. The T.sub.g of the acrylic ester polymer resin should be such that the composition does not run, sag or otherwise lose its structural integrity when the metal line is heated to an operating temperature.
