    摘要: A method for creating large numbers of high-quality optical traps in arbitrary three-dimensional configurations and dynamically reconfiguring the traps under computer control. The method uses computer-generated diffractive optical elements to convert one or more optical tweezers into one or more optical vortices. The method involves combining the optical vortex technique with the holographic optical tweezer technique to create multiple optical vortices in arbitrary configurations. The method also involves employing the rotation induced in trapped particles by optical vortices to assemble clusters of particles into functional micromachines, to drive previously assembled micromachines, to pump fluids through microfluidics channels, to control flows of fluids through microfluidics channels, to mix fluids within microfluidics channels, to transport particles, to sort particles and to perform other related manipulations and transformations on matter over length scales.

A movement mechanism is operably associated with the injector to move the syringe in such a way that the at least one agitation element agitates a fluid contained in the syringe. Preferably, the syringe contains an ultrasound contrast agent that is agitated by the agitation element. An injector system and a method for agitating the contents of a syringe are also provided.

    摘要: An aerosol system or method for mixing first and second materials comprising a coupler, an actuator, and first and second containers that support first and second valve assemblies. The first container contains the second material and a propellant material. The second container contains the first material. The second container contains the first material. The first and second valve assemblies define first and second valve connecting portions. The coupler comprises first and second coupler connecting portions. The actuator defines an actuator connecting portion. In use, the coupler is arranged such that the first coupler connecting portion engages the first valve connecting portion and the second coupler connecting portion engages the second valve connecting portion. The coupler allows a mixture of the first and second materials to be formed in the second container. The actuator allows the propellant material within the second container to force at least a portion of the mixture from the second container.

    摘要: A continuous dispersing apparatus in which stirring vanes in a vessel disperse pulverizing media, wherein mill base containing coarse pigment particles is prevented from being discharged. The apparatus includes a vessel for containing pulverizing media with a supply inlet and a discharge outlet being formed at respective ends of the vessel, a rotating disc mounted on a rotating shaft passing through the vessel, and a partition defining a gap which prevents the passage of the pulverizing media while passing dispersed material, the partition dividing the vessel into a plurality of chambers. Each chamber is provided with at least one stirring device mounted on the rotating shaft. The partition includes a rotating disc releasably fixed to the rotating shaft and a ring-shaped plate releasably fixed to the vessel.

    摘要: A basket is so disposed that a portion of the outer periphery thereof is faced to the inner peripheral wall on one side of the tank. The starting materials thrown from the hopper portion formed on the other side of the tank which is opposite to the above inner peripheral wall, are efficiently premixed by the secondary vanes that are rotating near the center of the tank under the basket. The grains of the blend are dispersed by the primary vanes that are rotating in the basket 20 and pass through the slits formed by numerous wires having a circular shape in cross section in the side wall of the basket. Due to the whirling current or vortex current in the basket near the opening and in the tank produced by the stirrer means made up of grooves and/or vanes under the top cover that is provided at the upper portion of the side wall of the basket, the blend near the opening is introduced again into the basket from the inclined surface of the top cover that is downwardly inclined toward the center of the opening together with the dispersing media that have flown from the basket, and is dispersed again.
