Abstract:
A printing cartridge includes a hollow core. An ink supply is arranged within the core. A cylindrical former contains the core. A print media supply is wrapped around the former. A cover assembly contains the print media supply and defines a feed opening from which the print media supply is fed. A feed mechanism feeds the print media supply from the cover assembly.
Abstract:
A printhead re-capping assembly for a printer having a chassis, a platen assembly and a pagewidth printhead operatively mounted on the chassis to carry out a printing operation on print media passing over the platen assembly includes a base structure that is mounted on the chassis. At least one static solenoid is mounted on the base structure and is connected to an electrical power supply of the printer. A support member is actuable by the solenoid to be movable with respect to the chassis between an operative position and an inoperative position. A printhead capping member is mounted on the support member such that when the support member is in the operative position, the capping member engages the printhead to cap the printhead and when the support member is in the inoperative position, the capping member is disengaged from the printhead.
Abstract:
An inkjet printer is provided comprising a chassis, a pagewidth printhead operatively mounted on the chassis and a capping assembly. The capping assembly comprises a base structure mounted on the chassis, a static solenoid mounted on the base structure, a support member reciprocally movable between an operative position and an inoperative position, and a printhead capping member mounted directly on the support member. The support member is actuated by the solenoid and the capping member arranged such that when the support member is in the operative position, the capping member caps the printhead and when the support member is in the inoperative position, the capping member is disengaged from the printhead. The base structure and the solenoid areelongate and substantially coextensive with printhead.
Abstract:
A system for customizing postage stamps in which the system includes a media gathering input device, a processing unit and an output device. The media gathering device receives the customized image that is desired to be included on the postage stamps. The processing unit analyzes the customized image for compliance with regulatory and other such standards. The output device delivers the customized stamp to the user in a form or format that allows the user to make use of the customized postage. The customized stamps could be delivered in stamp form, such as sheets or rolls, or as encrypted digital files for later printing or production.
Abstract:
An image printing apparatus includes a print head for printing images. A microcontroller that includes a wafer substrate is provided. Processor circuitry is positioned on the wafer substrate. Print head interface circuitry is also positioned on the wafer substrate and is connected between the processor circuitry and the print hcad. The print hcad interface circuitry is configured to facilitate communication between the processor circuitry and the print head. Bus interface circuitry that is discrete from the print head interface circuitry is connected to the processor circuitry so that the processor circuitry can communicate with devices other than the print head via a bus.
Abstract:
An information storage card with one side printed with text and or images and the opposing side printed with encoded information readable by an optical sensor and decodable by a microprocessor, wherein the encoded information is repeated at different locations on the opposing side of the card such that localized card damage or printing faults do not prevent the sensor and the microprocessor from decoding the encoded information. Preferably, the encoded information is distributed across substantially the total of the second surface of the identifying card. The encoded information can be printed on the second surface and the text and or images can comprise business contact details for the owner of the card. The encoded information can include company information for a company associated with the owner.
Abstract:
The invention, in one embodiment, is an image storage method comprising receiving a first image; outputting a likeness of the first image on a media based on the first image; and placing an encoded representation of the first image on the media based on the first image. In another embodiment, the invention is an image storage method comprising receiving a first media including an encoded representation of an image; and replicating a likeness of the image on a second media based on the encoded representation of the image. In a further embodiment, the invention pertains to an image storage media, the media comprising a first surface adapted for displaying a likeness of an image; and a second surface configured for storing an encoded representation of the image, the first and second surfaces being in communication with each other. In yet another embodiment the invention pertains to an image processing system comprising means for receiving a first image; means for printing a likeness of the first image on a media; and means for storing an encoded representation of the first image on the media.
Abstract:
An image sensing and processing apparatus includes an image sensor that is capable of generating signals carrying data relating to an image sensed by the image sensor. The apparatus includes a microcontroller. The microcontroller includes a wafer substrate. VLIW processor circuitry is positioned on the wafer substrate. Image sensor interface circuitry is positioned on the wafer substrate and is connected between the VLIW processor circuitry and the image sensor. The image sensor interface circuitry is configured to facilitate communication between the VLIW processor circuitry and the image sensor. Bus interface circuitry that is discrete from the image sensor interface circuitry is connected to the VLIW processor circuitry so that the VLIW processor circuitry can communicate with devices other than the image sensor via a bus.
Abstract:
An instant message is generated in accordance with prescribed information displayed at a display unit. The instant message is transmitted to a prescribed client that can use the instant message. The transmitted instant message is displayed at a display unit of the client.
