摘要: Systems and methods for separating one or more olefins are provided. In one or more embodiments, the method for separating one or more olefins can include separating at least a portion of one or more C3 and heavier hydrocarbons from a hydrocarbon containing C1 to C20 hydrocarbons to provide a first mixture that can include methane, ethane, ethylene, and/or acetylene. At least a portion of the first mixture can be hydrogenated to convert at least a portion of the acetylene to ethane and ethylene. At least a portion of the methane can be separated from the hydrogenated mixture to provide a second mixture that can include ethane and ethylene. At least a portion of the ethylene can be separated from the second mixture to provide a first product that can include at least 95 mol % ethylene and a second product that can include at least 95 mol % ethane.

摘要: Producing C5 olefins from steam cracker C5 feeds may include reacting a mixed hydrocarbon stream comprising cyclopentadiene, C5 olefins, and C6+ hydrocarbons in a dimerization reactor where cyclopentadiene is dimerized to dicyclopentadiene. The dimerization reactor effluent may be separated into a fraction comprising the C6+ hydrocarbons and dicyclopentadiene and a second fraction comprising C5 olefins and C5 dienes. The second fraction, a saturated hydrocarbon diluent stream, and hydrogen may be fed to a catalytic distillation reactor system for concurrently separating linear C5 olefins from saturated hydrocarbon diluent, cyclic C5 olefins, and C5 dienes contained in the second fraction and selectively hydrogenating C5 dienes. An overhead distillate including the linear C5 olefins and a bottoms product including cyclic C5 olefins are recovered from the catalytic distillation reactor system. Other aspects of the C5 olefin systems and processes, including catalyst configurations and control schemes, are also described.

摘要: Methods for the selective hydrogenation of acetylenic compounds in a product stream that includes isoprene. A method of selectively hydrogenating an acetylenic hydrocarbon in the presence of isoprene may include obtaining a hydrocarbon mixture comprising an acetylenic hydrocarbon, isoprene, and butadiene or cyclopentadiene, or both. If cyclopentadiene is present, the hydrocarbon mixture may comprise greater than 2 wt. % cyclopentadiene. The method may further include contacting the hydrocarbon mixture and hydrogen (H2) with a hydrogenation catalyst under reaction conditions that are more selective to the hydrogenation of the acetylenic hydrocarbon than the isoprene.

摘要: A separation apparatus 10 includes a pretreatment section 20 that subjects a target fluid containing an olefin compound to at least one or more of a treatment for reducing an acetylene-based compound, a treatment for reducing a sulfur compound, and a treatment for reducing a fine particle component. In the pretreatment section 20, one or more treatments selected from a hydrotreating and an adsorption treatment with an adsorbent may be performed as the treatment for reducing the acetylene-based compound, one or more treatments selected from a washing and absorption treatment, an adsorption treatment with an adsorbent, and a hydrodesulfurization treatment may be performed as the treatment for reducing the sulfur compound, and one or more treatments selected from a liquid absorption treatment, a collection treatment, or a filtration treatment with a filter may be performed as the treatment for reducing the fine particle component.

摘要: A composition comprising a supported hydrogenation catalyst comprising palladium and a support, wherein the supported hydrogenation catalyst is capable of selectively hydrogenating highly unsaturated hydrocarbons to unsaturated hydrocarbons; and a dopant comprising a fluorene structure. A method of making a selective hydrogenation catalyst including contacting a support with a palladium-containing compound to form a supported-palladium composition; contacting the supported-palladium composition with a dopant comprising a fluorene structure group to form a selective hydrogenation catalyst precursor; and reducing the selective hydrogenation catalyst precursor to form the selective hydrogenation catalyst. A method of selectively hydrogenating highly unsaturated hydrocarbons to an unsaturated hydrocarbon enriched composition by contacting a supported catalyst comprising palladium and a dopant comprising a fluorene structure with a feed comprising highly unsaturated hydrocarbon under conditions suitable for hydrogenating at least a portion of the highly unsaturated hydrocarbon feed to form the unsaturated hydrocarbon enriched composition.

摘要: Oxidative dehydrogenation of paraffins to olefins provides a lower energy route to produce olefins. Oxidative dehydrogenation processes may be integrated with a number of processes in a chemical plant such as polymerization processes, manufacture of glycols, and carboxylic acids and esters. Additionally, oxidative dehydrogenation processes can be integrated with the back end separation process of a conventional steam cracker to increase capacity at reduced cost.

Compared to prior methods, the processes of the present invention simplify the C4 separation processes, afford more possible configurations for separation and purification, and are more cost effective. The processes and systems provided herein can be used as part of a cost-effective and efficient method for synthesizing methyl tertiary-butyl ether.
