摘要: Methods for analyzing a nucleic acid molecule are described. Methods may include attaching the nucleic acid molecule to a particle having a first characteristic dimension. In addition, methods may include applying an electric field through an aperture to move the particle to the aperture. Also, methods may include applying a voltage across a first electrode and a second electrode. Further, methods may include contacting a portion of the nucleic acid molecule to both the first electrode and the second electrode within the aperture, where the portion may include a nucleotide. In addition, methods may include measuring a current through the first electrode, the portion of the nucleic acid molecule, and the second electrode, where the measured current runs in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the aperture. Also, methods may include identifying the nucleotide of the portion of the nucleic acid molecule based on the current.

摘要: A system and method for determining kinetic parameters associated with a kinetic model of an imaging agent in a liver is provided. An image reconstruction device can receive radiotracer activities corresponding to a predetermined time period. For example, these radiotracer activities can include PET scan data corresponding to a number of time frames. The radiotracer activities can be used to determine a liver time activity curve and a circulatory input function. The liver time activity curve and circulatory input function can be used along with a kinetic model of the liver to produce kinetic parameters. These kinetic parameters can be used to determine hepatic scores, such as a hepatic steatosis score, a hepatic inflammation score, and a cirrhosis score. These scores are indicative of diseases of the liver, including nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, and hepatic fibrosis.

摘要: A computer-implemented method is provided. The method comprises: receiving, from a text field of a user interface, input text strings containing medical data; identifying, based on language semantics and grammatical structure, a keyword and one or more data values from the input text strings; providing the keyword as an input to a query of a medical data category database to obtain one or more categories associated with the keyword, the one or more categories including a first category; retrieving, from a template database, a first template associated with the first category, the first template including one or more fixed blocks and one or more variable blocks; inserting a data value corresponding to the keyword into a variable block of the first template to generate a replacement text string; and displaying the replacement text string in place of the input text strings in the text field.

摘要: A method of analyzing a molecule is disclosed. A lipid bilayer is formed such that it divides a first reservoir characterized by a first reservoir osmolarity from a second reservoir characterized by a second reservoir osmolarity. An electrolyte solution is flowed to the first reservoir that tends to make a first change to a ratio of the first reservoir osmolarity to the second reservoir osmolarity. A voltage is applied across the lipid bilayer, wherein the lipid bilayer is inserted with a nanopore, and wherein a net transfer of ions between the first reservoir and the second reservoir tends to make a second change to the ratio of the first reservoir osmolarity to the second reservoir osmolarity, and wherein the first change to the ratio and the second change to the ratio tends to counter-balance each other.

摘要: Molecules may be analyzed (e.g., sequencing of nucleic acid molecules) by tunneling recognition at a tunneling junction. Embodiments of the present invention may allow detecting individual nucleotides and the sequencing of a nucleic acid molecule using a tunneling junction. By labeling a specific nucleotide with a moiety, tunneling junctions may generate a signal with a suitable signal-to-noise ratio. The tunneling recognition uses a tunneling current that is mostly through the moiety rather than mostly through the nucleotide or a portion of the molecule of interest. Because a single nucleotide can be detected with a signal with a suitable signal-to-noise ratio resulting from the tunneling current passing through the moiety, embodiments of the present invention may allow for fast detection of nucleotides using a tunneling current.
