摘要: Laser printable, dry-erase substrates, along with their methods of formation and use, are provided. The laser printable, dry-erase substrate can include a base sheet defining a surface and a dry-erase coating on the surface of the base sheet. The dry-erase coating comprises a film-forming polymeric material (e.g., a polyacryl, a polymethacryl, a polyurethane-polyacryl mixture, a polyurethane-polymethacryl mixture, an urethane-acryl copolymer, or a mixture thereof) and a wetting agent (e.g., a nonionic surfactant that has a polyethylene oxide chain and an aromatic hydrocarbon lipophilic or hydrophobic group). The film-forming polymeric material melts and flows at a laser printing temperature so as to bond to toner ink.

摘要: Methods and kits for treating a fibrous substrate prior to forming an image thereon are provided. The method can include positioning a treatment sheet adjacent to the fibrous substrate, transferring a salt (e.g., calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, or a mixture thereof) from the treatment sheet to the fibrous substrate using a wetting solution (e.g., an aqueous solution, such as water) to carry the salt from the treatment sheet into the fibrous substrate, and drying the fibrous substrate such that the salt remains in the substrate. For example, the transfer of the salt from the treatment sheet into the fibrous substrate can be accomplished via pressing the backside of the treatment sheet such that the wetting solution flows from the treatment sheet into the fibrous substrate while carrying the salt.

摘要: Single ply cellulose-based abrasive backers are provided that can include a saturated nonwoven web defining a first surface and a second surface, wherein the saturated nonwoven web comprises cellulosic fibers, synthetic fibers, and a cured saturant composition. About 80 wt % to about 100 wt % of the cellulosic fibers within the nonwoven web can be hardwood fibers. In most embodiments, a top coating is positioned on the first surface of the saturated nonwoven web. Optionally, a backside coating is positioned on the second surface of the saturated nonwoven web. Methods are also provided for forming a cellulose-based abrasive backer. Multi-ply cellulose-based abrasive backers are also provided.

摘要: Printable substrates that provide a glossy printable surface with solvent resistance are provided. The printable substrate may include a base sheet having a first surface and a second surface, and a printable coating on the first surface. The printable coating includes a film-forming binder mixture, a crosslinking agent, a partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol, a first plurality of first silicon dioxide microparticles, a second plurality of second silicon dioxide microparticles, and a cationic dye fixative. The printable substrate may have a gloss level of about 50 to about 60 based on measurement of a gloss meter set with an angle of measurement of 75 degree on the external surface of the printable coating.
