The boost converter includes a boost converter IC and a discrete Schottky diode, both of which are co-packaged on a standard single common die pad. The bottom cathode is electrically connected to the common die pad. It is emphasized that this abstract is being provided to comply with rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. This abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
Abstract:
This application relates to the field of removable handles for cookware. The use of a single interchangeable and removable handle with different pieces of cookware has several advantages. One advantage is that the overall assembly is much smaller to store, as the handle may be removed and stored in a separate location, reducing the overall size of the assembly. In addition, a single handle may be utilized for multiple cooking vessels as it is common for only one handle to be utilized at a single time. Even though multiple cooking vessels may be used simultaneously, the handle is only utilized for repositioning or stabilizing the cooking vessel. In this way, when no cooking vessel is in use, only one handle need be stored, rather than separate (possibly attached) handles for each article of cookware.
Abstract:
A catheter includes a flexible tubing having a proximal end and a distal end. The catheter also includes an electrode assembly attached to the distal end of the flexible tubing and including a first magnet therein. The electrode assembly including an electrically conductive tip electrode and an electrically nonconductive coupler which is connected between the tip electrode and the distal end of the flexible tubing. The electrically conductive tip electrode comprises a hollow elongated tip electrode including a sidewall provided with one or more elongated gaps extending through the sidewall. The one or more elongated gaps providing flexibility in the sidewall for bending movement of the tip electrode relative to a longitudinal axis of the catheter body. The first magnet is responsive to an external magnetic field to selectively position and guide the electrode assembly within a body of a patient.

Abstract:
A device for scattering confetti includes an inverted pocket positioned within the interior of an envelope inflated by a gas inlet at an upper end region of the envelope. Confetti is contained within the pocket, and a break-away closure closes an open end of the pocket at the upper end region, and maintains the confetti within the pocket. Upon compressing the envelope, the pocket is reversed in position, the closure ruptured, and the confetti is suddenly expelled in an explosive manner with a concomitant popping sound.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing amplitude instability data recovery for AMR/GMR heads during amplitude loss using MSE and/or amplitude envelope detection procedures. The method includes (a) initiating a data recovery procedure by selecting a detection mode for detecting when an error condition occurs, (b) performing the selected detection mode, (c) determining a reset action for resetting the magnetic head, (d) performing the reset action to reset the magnetic head and (f) re-reading data in the track after performing the reset action. An embodiment of the invention further includes (g) determining whether the resetting of the magnetic head allowed recovery of the data in the track and (h) terminating the data recovery procedure when the data is recovered. An embodiment of the invention further includes (i) determining whether predetermined limits have been exhausted when the data is not recovered, (j) terminating the data recovery procedure when the predetermined limits have been exhausted and repeating steps (a)-(g) when the predetermined limits have not been exhausted. In an embodiment of the invention, the determining a reset action for resetting the magnetic head further includes applying a maximum write current to the head, toggling a head bias current, toggling the head bias current and the write current, or applying a reset pulse to the head.
Abstract:
A wine aerator includes a container having walls bounding an interior compartment. The compartment has an open condition in which a volume of a type of wine to be aerated is admitted to partially fill the compartment, and a closed condition for hermetically sealing the wine in the compartment. The remainder of the compartment contains a volume of air. A plurality of indicators are provided on the container for visually indicating different air/wine volume ratios based on the type of wine in the compartment. An agitator agitates the hermetically sealed wine with a selected one of the ratios for a predetermined time to aerate the wine.
Abstract:
A DC-DC boost converter in multi-die package is proposed having an output Schottky diode and a low-side vertical MOSFET controlled by a power regulating controller (PRC). The multi-die package includes a single die pad with the Schottky diode placed there on side by side with the vertical MOSFET. The PRC die is attached atop the single die pad via an insulating die bond. Alternatively, the single die pad is grounded. The vertical MOSFET is a top drain vertical N-channel FET, the substrate of Schottky diode die is its anode. The Schottky diode and the vertical MOSFET are stacked atop the single die pad. The PRC is attached atop the single die pad via a standard conductive die bond. The Schottky diode die can be supplied in a flip-chip configuration with cathode being its substrate. Alternatively, the Schottky diode is supplied with anode being its substrate without the flip-chip configuration.
