    摘要: A controller is provided for an engine comprising urea-SCR catalyst, a urea-water supply section, a low pressure gas recirculating section including a low pressure EGR pipe forming a low pressure EGR passage and a low pressure EGR valve. The controller controls an amount of a fuel supplied to the engine, and an opening degree of the low pressure EGR valve. The controller supplies the urea-water to the urea-SCR catalyst in such a manner that an ammonia flowing out from the urea-SCR catalyst neutralizes an acid condensed water produced by a gas passing through the low pressure EGR passage.

    摘要: In an internal combustion engine, a hydrocarbon feed valve (15) and an exhaust purification catalyst (13) are arranged in an engine exhaust passage. As rich control for making the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas which flows into the exhaust purification catalyst (13) rich, cylinder rich control for generating rich air-fuel ratio combustion gas in the cylinder and exhaust rich control for feeding hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon feed valve (15) to make air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas rich are used. When the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas which flows into the exhaust purification catalyst should be made rich, if the speed of the vehicle is lower than a predetermined speed and the gear position of the transmission is at a predetermined low speed gear position, exhaust rich control is used instead of cylinder rich control.

    摘要: In an NOx discharge quantity estimation method for an internal combustion engine equipped with an EGR apparatus, the gas components (e.g., oxygen molecules and NOx) of intake gas taken into a combustion chamber are assumed to be uniformly distributed throughout the entire region of the combustion chamber. Under such assumption, the combustion chamber is divided into a combustion region (region B) and a non-combustion region (region A) by making use of the ratio of the “mass of oxygen consumed as a result of combustion” to the “total mass of oxygen taken in the combustion chamber.” Further, under the assumption that NOxgenerated as a result of combustion remains in the region B after combustion, and NOx present in the region A before combustion due to circulation of EGR gas is conserved after combustion, the quantity of NOx discharged from the exhaust passage to the outside is calculated in consideration of not only the quantity of combustion-generated NOx in the region B but also the quantity of circulated NOx in the region A.

When the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas which flows into the exhaust purification catalyst should be made rich, if the speed of the vehicle is lower than a predetermined speed and the gear position of the transmission is at a predetermined low speed gear position, exhaust rich control is used instead of cylinder rich control.

    摘要: In an internal combustion engine, a hydrocarbon feed valve (15), NOx storage catalyst (13), particulate filter (14), and electric resistance type sensor (29) are arranged in an engine exhaust passage in this order from an upstream side. The electric resistance type sensor (29) generates an output value corresponding to the amounts of deposition of particulate matter and hydrocarbons which are contained in the exhaust gas and deposited at the sensor part thereof. From the change of the output value of the electric resistance type sensor (29), it is judged if the hydrocarbons have slipped through the NOx storage catalyst (13) and if the particulate matter has slipped through the particulate filter (14).
