    摘要： A composition comprising a hydrocarbon polymer having {overscore (M)}n ranging from 20,000 to about 500,000, when the polymer is not a star polymer, and up to about GPC peak molecular weight of 4,000,000 when the polymer is a star polymer having attached thereto pendant groups Aa and Bb wherein each A is independently a member of the group of formula —Q—Kk wherein each Q is independently an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group, each K is independently a member selected from the group consisting of amide groups, nitrile groups, ester groups and carboxylic acid groups, and each k is independently a number ranging from 1 to about 3, and when k≧2, groups —K on adjacent carbon atoms, taken together, may constitute a succinimide group, and a is 0 or a number ranging from 1 to about 50; and each B is independently a member of the group of formula: wherein each X is independently O, S, or NRb, each Rb is independently H, NH2, hydrocarbyl, hydroxyhydrocarbyl, or aminohydrocarbyl, each s is independently 1 or 2, and each Z is independently a hydrocarbyl group, optionally substituted with one or more carboxylic acid groups or amide groups, each Ra is independently an ethylene group, a propylene group, which groups optionally have hydrocarbyl or hydroxyhydrocarbyl substituents, or wherein J is H, SH, NH2, or OH, and tautomers thereof; and b is a number ranging from 1 to about 50 with the proviso that when X is O, then b ranges from 2 to about 50.

    摘要： A composition of matter suitable for use as a dispersant-viscosity improver for lubricating oil compositions comprises the reaction product of reactants comprising(a) an oil soluble, substantially hydrogenated, vinyl substituted aromatic-aliphatic conjugated diene block copolymer said copolymer having a number average molecular weight ranging from about 30,000 to about 300,000, grafted with an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid or functional derivative thereof;(b-1) at least one polyester containing at least one condensable hydroxyl group; and(b-2) at least one polyamine having at least one condensable primary or secondary amino group, and optionally,(c) at least one hydrocarbyl substituted carboxylic acid or anhydride.

    摘要： A load-carrying agent and a lubricating composition containing such an agent is disclosed. The agent is preferably comprised of a statistical mixture of a plurality of different coupled phosphorus-containing amide compounds having the formula ##STR1## wherein X.sup.1, X.sup.2 and X.sup.3, independently, is O or S; wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, independently, is a hydrocarbyl, a hydrocarbyl-based oxy, the hydrocarbyl portion of which contains 6 to 22 carbon atoms, or a hydrocarbyl-based thio having from 4 to about 34 carbon atoms; wherein R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6, independently, is hydrogen, or an alkyl having from 1 to about 22 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl having from about 4 to about 22 carbon atoms, or an aromatic, an alkyl-substituted aromatic or an aromatic-substituted alkyl having from 6 to about 34 carbon atoms; wherein n is 0 or 1; wherein n' is 1, 2 or 3; wherein R.sup.7 is hydrogen or an alkyl having from 1 to 22 carbon atoms; and wherein when n' is 1, R.sup.8 is selected from the group consisting of H, --ROH, --ROR, --RSR and ##STR2## and when n' is 2, R.sup.8 is selected from the group consisting of ##STR3## --R-- and --R'-- when n' is 3, R.sup.8 is ##STR4## wherein R is independently hydrogen or an alkyl moiety, alkylene or alkylidene containing 1 to 12 carbon atoms and R' is hydrogen or an alkyl moiety, alkylene, alkylidene or carboxyl containing 1 to 60 carbon atoms.

    摘要： Compounds which improve extreme pressure and anti-wear properties of lubricating compositions are described. The compounds include the compounds of the following formula as well as statistical mixtures of those compounds: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or hydrocarbyl; R.sub.2 is hydrocarbyl having at least 4 carbon atoms or together with R.sub.1 forms a heterocyclic radical,wherein R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 are each independently hydrogen or alkyl;wherein a is 0 or 1;wherein n is 1, 2 or 3;wherein X is oxygen or sulfur;wherein R.sub.5 is hydrogen or hydrocarbyl; andwhen n is 1, R.sub.6 is selected from the group consisting of ##STR2## and when n is 2, R.sub.6 is selected from the group consisting of ##STR3## and when n is 3, R.sub.6 is ##STR4## wherein R is independently an alkyl moiety, alkylene or alkylidene moiety containing 1 to 12 carbon atoms, R' is hydrogen or alkyl moiety, alkylene, alkylidene or carboxyl containing 1 to 60 carbon atoms, and R" is aryl or substituted aryl.
