    摘要: A method for balancing a plurality of cylinders during operation of an internal combustion engine having a plurality of gas admission valves includes operating the internal combustion engine with a first common ignition timing for each of a plurality of cylinders. While operating with the first common ignition timing, a cylinder having an above-average knock level is determined, and an opening duration of the gas admission valve associated with this cylinder is reduced. This is repeated until the knock levels for all cylinders differ from each other by less than a predetermined amount. When the knock levels for all cylinders differ by less than the predetermined amount, the first common ignition timing is advanced to a second ignition timing.

The method may include providing a desired burn rate profile corresponding to a desired operation of the internal combustion engine. The method may further include selecting first operating parameters such that an operation of the internal combustion engine with a first gas composition produces a first burn rate profile that corresponds to the desired burn rate profile. The method may also include operating the internal combustion engine with the first operating parameters using a second gas composition. The method may include determining that the second burn rate profile differs from the desired burn rate profile. In addition, the method may include adjusting an operating parameter from among the first operating parameters of the internal combustion engine to approach the desired burn rate profile.

The internal combustion engine includes a plurality of cylinders and at least one gaseous fuel admission valve for each cylinder of the plurality of cylinders. The method includes operating the dual fuel internal combustion engine on liquid fuel. The method further includes supplying gaseous fuel to the gaseous fuel admission valves at a pressure above an intake manifold air pressure thereby setting a differential gas pressure across the gaseous fuel admission valves. The method also includes operating the gaseous fuel admission valves to add gaseous fuel to intake air while operating the dual fuel internal combustion engine primarily on liquid fuel. Further, the method includes measuring combustion process parameters for the cylinders. The method also includes evaluating operability of the gaseous fuel admission valves based on the measured combustion process parameters.
