摘要: A deep channel type of radial ball bearing having a retainer. The bearing has an outer ring and an inner ring. Running channels are formed on the mutually opposing orbiting surfaces of the outer ring and inner ring. A specified number of balls are fit into the running channels. The retainer having pockets is placed between the outer ring and the inner ring. Each ball is captured in one of the pockets. A ball contact surface is formed on the inner surface of each edge on the opening side of the pockets. A curved ridge line forms the boundary between the inner surface of the pocket and the contact surface. This curved ridge line that forms the boundary is substantially parallel to the direction of rotation of the balls. A channel is formed at the bottom surface of the pocket. The channel extends from the inner perimeter to the outer perimeter of the retainer. The lubricating oil on the bottom surface of the pocket flows through the channel by virtue of the rolling of the balls and is guided to the outer perimeter side. A triangle-shaped fin having an inclined surface is integrally formed between the adjacent pockets on the outer perimeter surface. The inclined surface is formed on the trailing side of pocket with respect to the retainer direction of rotation. Lubricating oil directed from the above-described channel to the outer perimeter surface by the rolling of the ball is received at the inclined surface of the fin and is supplied to the vicinity of the leading edge of the pocket that is located behind the fin by the rotation of the retainer.

摘要: A method for developing an excellent material for enhancing skin barrier function, and providing a cosmetic which is developed based on the method and has excellent ability to enhance skin barrier function is described. The method evaluates skin barrier function by the steps of 1) culturing normal human epidermal cells in wells having a semipermeable membrane with two sides, in presence and absence of a test substance; 2) adding a medium not containing metal ions to a first side of the semipermeable membrane in each well and a medium containing the metal ions to a second side of the semipermeable membrane in each well, provided that the cells are adhered to the first side of the semipermeable membrane; 3) culturing the cells; 4) measuring the concentration of the metal ions in each medium; and 5) calculating permeability of the metal ions in the epidermal cell layer based on the measured concentrations of the metal ions in each media. The test substance is effective for enhancing skin barrier function when the permeability is reduced in the medium in which the test substance is added compared to the permeability in the medium in which no test substance is added. The larger the level of reduced permeability, the higher the suitability of the test substance as a material for enhancing skin barrier function.

摘要: A retainer for holding bearings within a shaft bearing has C-shaped pockets for holding the bearings. Between the pockets are connecting portions, which are close to the openings of the pockets. The rear sides of adjacent pockets and the rear side of the connecting portion for the adjacent pockets form a concave site that is deeply gouged into the retainer. The bottom of the concave site is closer to the openings than the bottom of the pockets, thereby allowing base oil from grease in the concave site to better migrate onto the bearings and so lubricate the shaft bearing.

摘要: An image forming apparatus comprises an exposure department for exposing photographic paper conveyed at a first conveying speed, a development department for developing the photographic paper, conveyed at a second conveying speed lower than the first conveying speed, after being exposed in the exposure department. In the image forming apparatus, the relationship between 1) the distance along the conveying direction from a reference area to a micro area being the target of exposure correction, both the reference area and the micro area being on the photographic paper, and 2) the difference in tone between images formed at the reference area and the micro area when the reference area and the micro area are exposed to the same amount of light in the exposure department, and the relationship between the exposure of the photographic paper and the tone of the image at the reference area are stored.

摘要: A retainer having an annular body with a plurality of pockets. Each pocket has a pair of corner portions that form an opening. The pockets have a spherical inside surface and a pair of tapered surfaces. Alternatively, the pockets can have a spherical inside surface and at least two pairs of tapered surfaces. The geometry of the pockets including the corner portions has rotational symmetry. The retainer improves lubricant retention, and reduces vibration, noise and non-repeating run out.

摘要: A printed wiring board manufacturing method is provided which is so consitituted that when a carbon dioxide leaser is used to form holes such as via holes in a copper clad laminate, copper foils and resin layers may be processed at the same time, without having to perform an etching treatment on the cooper foil. Namely, a carbon dioxide laser is used to form recess portions such as via holes in a copper clad laminate, followed by plating to form interlayer electrical connections, forming etching resist layers, and exposing and developing the etching resist layers, thereby effecting a circuit etching treatment. In particular, the copper clad laminate is a laminate formed by using waved copper foils to form external copper foils.

摘要: A splicer bed has a leader support on a top thereof. An opening is provided in one end of the leader support. A knife mounting base is arranged to project from the opening and is provided at one end with a cartridge holder. The knife mounting base has a leader positioning head provided on the other end thereof for determining the position of a leader. A stationary knife is mounted to the leader positioning head. A movable knife is mounted for pivotal movement to the stationary knife. A film holddown plate is pivotably mounted to the knife mounting base. The knife mounting base is provided with a pair of punches which are arranged slidably and can be lowered by the film holddown plate. Before the leading portion of a film is drawn out from a film cartridge loaded in the cartridge holder is held under the film holddown plate, the downward movement of the film holddown plate causes the punches to cut two notches in both side edges of the film. The leading portion of the film is trimmed by the downward action of the movable knife and then is joined by a strip of splicing tape to the leader placed on the leader support.

摘要: The leader attached to a web of film is cut from the film while processing the film in a photographic processing machine. Before feeding the film to the printing unit, the leader is separated from the film. At a turning point where the film feed direction extending from the film drying unit to the printing unit changes, the film is fed straight ahead and the leader is cut off the film by a cutter. The film is fed back in a reverse direction and its end is turned up by a guide. When the printing unit gets vacant, the film without the leader is fed into the printing unit.
