    摘要: Antimicrobial mixtures containing specific antimicrobial diols, e.g. 1,2-dodecanediol, and specific aromatic alcohols, e.g. phenylethyl alcohol or hydrocinnamic alcohol, are provided. Such mixtures with a weight ratio of diol to aromatic alcohol of 9:1 to 1:9 have been found to exhibit a synergistic effect, i.e. a high antimicrobial activity which cannot be explained by an additive effect of the very low-activity components. Such mixtures are useful in the disinfection of hard surfaces, in the production of disinfectant cleaning preparations and in the preservation of water-based preparations of microbially degradable substances.

    摘要: An integrally built, linear array of cuvettes is made of a plastic material. Every cuvette of the array has the same shape and dimensions. Neighboring cuvettes are connected to each other by a single web. Each of the single webs has a curved shape and each cuvette has means forming integral part thereof and serving for accurately positioning the cuvette into an opening of a cuvette holder and means for removably connecting the cuvette to the cuvette holder. Each cuvette has an upper chamber and a lower chamber having a common symmetry axis passing through the centers of both chambers. Each of the upper and lower chambers has a substantially cylindrical shape. The cross-section of the upper chamber at the central part thereof is larger than the cross-section of the lower chamber. The lower chamber has an open lower end. The upper chamber has an open top end and an annular bottom wall having a central circular opening which connects the upper chamber with the lower chamber. The inner surface of the bottom wall of the upper chamber (17) is part of a conical surface the cross-section of which forms an angle of about 80 degrees with the symmetry axis, so that there is an abrupt change of cross-section between the upper chamber and the lower chamber. A two-dimensional array of cuvettes comprises a plurality of linear cuvette arrays inserted into a cuvette holder having a matrix array of cuvette receiving openings. A system of two-dimensional cuvette arrays is built by stacking two or more of such two-dimensional arrays of cuvettes. Foil shaped layers serving, e.g. as a filter, are adapted to be attached to each cuvette to cover at least one opening thereof.

    摘要: The invention relates to a segmented filter cigarette comprising a tobacco rod including at least two segments of differing tobacco fillings, a wrapping for said tobacco rod, and a filter, said at least two segments of said tobacco rod having a coaxial structure, each comprising an inner core of tobacco material, a wrapping for said inner core, a jacket of a different tobacco material and a wrapping for said jacket; the tobaccos of said inner cores of said segments have the same or a very similar condensate potential; the tobaccos of said jackets of said segments have the same or a very similar condensate potential which differs, however, from the condensate potential of said inner cores; by defining the resistances to draw of said inner cores and of said jackets of said segments and by adapting said filter it is achieved that the smoke is drawn substantially from the region having a high condensate potential of the first-burning segment during smoking of the segmented filter cigarette, and the smoke is drawn substantially from the region of said segment having the lower condensate potential during smoking of the filter-end segment to achieve the same perception of taste puff-for-puff. By specially designing the coaxial filter an increasing proportion of smoke is introduced into the filter part having high filtering effectiveness during smoking of said first segment.
