摘要: A recordable data storage disc comprises a substrate having a spirally or concentrically shaped groove pattern. A groove depth of the groove pattern is greater than 90 nanometers, and a track pitch provided by the groove pattern is less than 500 nanometers. The data storage disc further comprises a write-once recording layer formed on the groove pattern, and a reflector layer formed on the recording layer opposite the substrate. The groove depth of greater than 90 nanometers allows a thicker coating of dye to be used for the recording layer compared to other recordable data storage discs with a groove pattern with a groove depth of 90 nanometers or less. The thicker coating of dye allows a lower write power, better modulation when reading a data signal from the disc. The groove depth of greater than 90 nanometers may also allow for more precise push-pull tracking.

摘要: An optically clear adhesive layer includes a liquid optically clear adhesive having a viscosity of less than about 20 Pa·s at a shear rate of 1 sec−1 and a thixotrope. The optically clear adhesive layer has a haze of about 2% or less, a viscosity of between about 2 and about 30 Pa·s at a shear rate of 10 sec−1, a displacement creep of about 0.2 radians or less when a stress of 10 Pa is applied for about 2 minutes and a recovery time of about 60 seconds or less to reach a delta of 35 degrees after a torque of about 100 microN·m is applied for about 60 seconds at a frequency of 1 Hz and immediately followed by a torque of 80 microN·m at a frequency of 1 Hz. The adhesive layer can be used in an optical assembly to bond a display panel to a substantially transparent substrate. The adhesive layer provides a cleavage strength between glass substrates of about 15 N/mm or less such that the optical assembly can be disassembled with little or no damage to the display panel or the substrate. Optical assemblies and methods of making the optical assembly are also disclosed. The optical assembly may be used in an optical device such as a handheld device, a television, a computer monitor, a laptop display, or a digital sign.

摘要: A single layer or dual layer magnetic recording medium comprising a non-magnetic substrate having a front side and a back side, a back coat formed on the back side. In a single layer medium, the magnetic layer comprises a ferromagnetic powder dispersed in a binder, and a surface modifier comprising a low molecular weight azo dye. In the dual layer embodiment, a lower support layer is formed over the front side comprising a granular alpha iron oxide compound dispersed in a binder, and as a surface treatment agent, at least one low molecular azo dye having the following general formula: —Ar—N═N—Ar— wherein Ar represents an aryl group, each of which independently comprises at least one pendant group selected from an electron donor, and an electron acceptor, and a magnetic layer is formed over the lower layer.

摘要: An electronic display (100) is provided that includes a display panel (106) having an image—forming region, a substantially clear photocured bonding layer (104) which is the reaction product of a first photocurable resin system disposed upon the image—forming region, an obscuring layer (108) in proximity to at least a portion of the substantially clear photocurable bonding layer, and a substantially transparent outer panel (106) in contact with at least a portion of the obscuring layer. The bonding layer (104) is disposed partially beneath the obscuring layer (108). The obscuring layer has an average light transmission of less than about 5% in the wavelength range of 420 nm to 700 nm and a light transmission of greater than about 5% in the wavelength range of 300 to 400 nm. Also provided is a method for making the electronic display.
