    摘要: Aromatic/aliphatic nitriles having the formula:Ar--A--CN (I)wherein Ar is phenyl or substituted phenyl and A is a direct chemical bond or a hydrocarbon having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, are conveniently prepared by heating to a temperature ranging from about 450.degree. C. to about 550.degree. C. a formamide or formanilide having the formula:Ar--A--NHCHO (II)or an amide having the formula:Ar--A--CONH.sub.2 (III)in the presence of a fluorinated siliceous catalyst, said catalyst having been prepared by (i) impregnating a particulate silica prepared by the precipitation of sodium silicate with sulfuric acid, with a dilute aqueous solution of hydrofluoric acid, said hydrofluoric acid solution having a concentration in HF of less than about 5% by weight, and the ratio by weight of the hydrofluoric acid contained in said aqueous solution thereof to the silica being less than about 5%, followed by (ii) drying the catalyst thus impregnated.

    摘要: A method of fabricating a multilayer circuit board having rigid and flexible sections using Z-axis laser routing. A rigid superstructure is provided for lamination to a flexible circuit substrate, wherein the superstructure includes specially configured strips of laser reflective material, disposed on the laminating surface thereof, defining the boundary between the rigid and flexible sections of the multilayer circuit board. In subsequent processing, a beam of laser energy is directed through the rigid superstructure, along the Z-axis thereof, superjacent to each strip of laser reflective material, thereby cutting through the material of the superstructure creating a laser routed channel which forms an interface between the rigid and flexible sections of the finished multilayer circuit board. In a further step, the portion of the rigid superstructure residing between the laser routed channels is separated and removed, there by exposing the underlying flexible substrate, resulting in a flexible section on an otherwise rigid laminated composite and creating a multilayer rigid/flex circuit board.

    摘要: Spheroidal alumina shaped articles are prepared by dispersing an ungelled admixture of an alumina sol and hexamethylenetetramine, in the form of droplets, into a liquid forming medium which is but very slightly miscible with water, said medium being at a temperature of between about 50.degree. and 105.degree. C., next aging the alumina spheres thus shaped at a temperature greater than about 105.degree. C. at superatmospheric pressure, then secondarily aging said alumina spheres in a basic medium, and thence washing, drying and calcining said aged alumina spheres.The resultant shaped articles are useful, e.g., catalysts or catalyst carriers/supports.

    摘要: The disclosed invention provides a flexible circuit board for use in surface mount technology. A polyaramid fiber reinforced resin provides a substrate for a copper cladding in which a circuit is formed. Overlaying the circuitry are a plurality of spaced insulating pads also reinforced with polyaramid fiber for dimensional stability. The spaces insulated pads define fold-lines along which the circuit may be folded, thereby providing a degree of flexibility required for flexible circuit applications.

    摘要: Spheroidal alumina particulates having bifold porosity are prepared by (i) intimately admixing, at a pH of less than about 7.5, (a) a sol of a member selected from the group consisting of ultrafine boehmite and pseudo-boehmite, said sol being devoid of amorphous alumina and the concentration by weight thereof, in content by weight of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, being between 5 and 25%, with (b) from 30 to 95% by weight, based upon the total solids content of the admixture, of spheroidal alumina particulates essentially completely in at least one of the phases eta, gamma, delta and theta, such particulates having a micropore volume ranging from about 0.4 to 1 cm.sup.3 /g, a specific surface ranging from about 100 to 350 m.sup.2 /g, and particle diameters ranging from about 1 to 50 microns; (ii) prilling said intimate admixture into spheroidal particulates and gelling the same; and then, (iii) recovering, drying and calcining said gelled particulates at a temperature of from 550.degree. to 1100.degree. C.The resultant particulates having bifold porosity are useful as catalysts or catalyst supports.
