A coupling amount of a coupling agent, each weight percent based on the combined weight of the propylene polymer, olefinic interpolymer and metal hydrate. Wire and cable insulation sheaths made from compositions comprising the coupled polymer exhibit desirable heat resistance.

摘要： A multilayer nonwoven structure is described where the nonwoven structure comprises at least two spun bond layers and at least one easily meltable layer. The easily meltable layer is located between the at least two spunbond layers. The easily meltable layer is comprised of a polymer having a melting point at least 20° C. less than the melting point of the polymer which comprises the surface of the fibers which comprise the spun bond layer, or is made from a polymer which is readily absorbs some form of radiation. Under bonding conditions, the fibers which make up the easily meltable layer can be melted to form a film, thereby improving bather properties of the nonwoven structure.

Some dispersions include less than about 4 percent by weight of the dispersing agent based on the weight of the thermoplastic resin. Other dispersions include at least one propylene-rich alpha-olefin interpolymer; at least one dispersing agent; and water. Methods of making such dispersions are also described.

摘要： The instant invention provides a coating composition, a process of making a coating composition, a coated article, and a method of forming such articles. The coating composition according to the present invention comprises a dispersion comprising: (a) a core comprising a base polymer; (b) a shell at least partially surrounding said core, wherein said shell comprising a polar polymeric stabilizing agent; and (c) one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers embedded at least partially in said shell. The process for making a coating composition according to the present invention comprises the steps of: (1) selecting a base polymer; (2) selecting a polar polymeric stabilizing agent; (3) selecting one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers; (4) melt-blending said base polymer, said polar polymeric stabilizing agent, and said one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers; (4) contacting said melt-blended base polymer, polar polymeric stabilizing agent and one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers with water and optionally in the presence of a neutralizing agent; (5) thereby forming said dispersion comprising: (a) a core comprising said base polymer; (b) a shell at least partially surrounding said core, wherein said shell comprising said polar polymeric stabilizing agent; and (c) said one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers embedded at least partially in said shell. The coated article according to the present invention comprises: a substrate comprising cellulose base material; and a dispersion on at least one surface of said substrate, wherein said dispersion comprises: (a) a core comprising a base polymer; (b) a shell at least partially surrounding said core, wherein said shell comprising a polar polymeric stabilizing agent; and (c) one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers embedded at least partially in said shell. The method of making a coated article according to the present invention comprises the steps of: (1) providing a substrate comprising cellulose base material (2) providing a coating composition comprising a dispersion comprising: (a) a core comprising a base polymer; (b) a shell at least partially surrounding said core, wherein said shell comprising a polar polymeric stabilizing agent; and (c) one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers embedded at least partially in said shell; (3) applying said coating composition to at least one surface of said substrate; and (4) thereby making said coated article.

摘要： The present invention provides an article formed by impregnating a fibrous structure with a compound, the compound including an aqueous dispersion, the dispersion having (a) at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based thermoplastic polymer, a propylene-based thermoplastic polymer, and mixtures thereof; (b) at least one polymeric stabilizing agent; and (c) water; and removing at least a portion of the water from the impregnated fibrous structure. The present invention also provides a method of forming a stiffened textile. The method may include the steps of: forming a compound, the compound including an aqueous dispersion having (a) at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based thermoplastic polymer, a propylene-based thermoplastic polymer, and mixtures thereof, (b) at least one polymeric stabilizing agent, and (c) water; impregnating a textile with the compound; and removing at least a portion of the water from the impregnated textile.

摘要： In one embodiment, the present invention provides a method of forming a cellulose article having a specific volume of less than 3 cc/gm. The method includes the step of incorporating cellulose fibers with a compound, wherein the compound includes an aqueous dispersion. The aqueous dispersion may have at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based thermoplastic polymer, a propylene-based thermoplastic polymer, and mixtures thereof; at least one polymeric stabilizing agent; and water. In certain embodiments, a combined amount of the at least one polymer and the at least one stabilizing agent comprises about 25 to about 74 volume percent of the aqueous dispersion.

摘要： Polystyrene is dispersed into a polyol via a mechanical dispersion process. A stabilizer is present to stabilize the dispersed polymer particles. The stabilizer includes a copolymer of (1) from 10 to 70% by weight of a branched polyol which has a molecular weight of from 4000 to 20,000, from 0.2 to about 1.2 polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated groups per molecule and from about 3 to about 8 hydroxyl groups per molecule with (2) from 30 to 90% by weight of styrene or a mixture of styrene and one or more other low molecular weight monomers.
