Abstract:
A mobile terminal includes a pointing device section, a sensor section and a switch section. The pointing device section includes an operation section provided for a first board to be movable in a horizontal direction parallel to the first board and in a vertical direction orthogonal to the first board, and a contact section configured to move in conjunction with a movement of the operation section. The sensor section is provided for a second board below the first board to oppose to the contact section and is configured to detect the movement of the operation section in the horizontal direction. The switch section is provided for the second board to oppose to the contact section and is configured to detect the movement of the operation section in the vertical direction. The contact section has a surface portion opposing to the switch section and inclined with respect to the first board.

Abstract:
A cellular phone set includes the videophone function of performing real-time image transfer by using a communication scheme with high transmission capability, and a section for transmitting control data for controlling various functions including the videophone function on a distant side in response to a specific external operation during speech communication. A remote control method for a cellular phone set is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention is a process for manufacturing an electronic circuit device by applying a solder material to electronic parts or electrodes on a printed circuit board; the process comprising the steps of removing an initial surface oxide film and an organic contaminant film from the surfaces of the solder material and electrode, covering the solder material and an area to which solder is to be applied which is comprised of the electrode, with a liquid vaporizing up after the bonding is completed in the step of heat-melting the solder material, to thereby prevent reoxidation of the joining area surface, and heat-melting the solder material, to carry out solder bonding without using any flux.
Abstract:
A portable cellular phone is provided which is capable of minimizing a number of times of processes of reading user data from a user identity module (UIM) card and expansion of user data in an embedded memory when power is ON. The portable cellular phone is so configured that the UIM card can be mounted in its UIM card socket and, once the UIM card has been installed, a UIM card detached/attached history detecting unit detects whether or not the UIM card has been detached and then the UIM card or another UIM card has been attached and stores a result from the detecting in a register section embedded therein. Even when power is OFF state, the UIM card detached/attached history detecting unit can detect whether or not the UIM card has been detached and then attached again. After power is ON, a central processing unit (CPU) reads a register value stored in the UIM card detached/attached history detecting unit through a peripheral circuit. The CPU, only when having judged, based on the register value, that the UIM card has been detached, reads information containing user data such as a telephone number directory or a like from the UIM card and expands it in a random access memory (RAM).
Abstract:
A portable telephone device has a long-range wireless communication function and a short-range wireless communication function for communicating with an external adapter. The quality of short-range communication with the external adapter is monitored during the long-range communication. When the quality of short-range communication has been deteriorated, a message indicative of short-range communication deterioration is transmitted to the party on the other end of line. Voice data received from the party on the other end of line in response to the message is recorded onto a data memory.
Abstract:
In the manufacture of a gas discharge type display panel, by applying a sealing operation along with an exhausting operation, the sealing glass 14 is broken down by a pressure difference between the inside and outside of the panel, and thus, the clearance gap between the substrates can be controlled as desired. In addition, the gaseous component that is unnecessary for the discharge operation is exhausted by setting the temperature of the amorphous sealing glass to exceed its softening-point and be no more than its working point. In the structure of the gas discharge type display panel, a protruding portion having a radius of curvature between 0.1 mm and 1 mm is formed on the sealing glass to reduce the dispersion in the thickness direction of the sealing glass, or the cross-sectional shape of the sealing glass is made convex both at its inside end part and its outside end part.
Abstract:
A system construction section 24 receives mechanical modules, such as printer modules, and a scanner, produced by a mechanicals expendables production section 22, and assembles the mechanical modules and a built-in computer for driving and controlling the mechanical modules, so as to construct a printing system. Constructed printing systems 132, 134, and 136 are installed in a mini-labo 32, a drugstore 34, and a shopping mall 36. An expendables supply section 26 obtains a supply of expendables, which have been consumed in the respective printing systems 132, 134, and 136, from a mechanicals expendables production section 22. The supply of expendables from the mechanicals expendables production section 22, which produces genuine expendables suitable for the printer modules, ensures sufficient execution of the printing performances of the printing system.
Abstract:
In order to remove oxide film and contamination film on members to be bonded by soldering and solder material therefor corresponding to variation of thickness thereof by sputter-etching in a fluxless bonding method and apparatus therefor, substance emitted from the solder material under sputter-etching using atom or ion is detected and determined whether it is from the solder material or from the oxide film thereon. The sputter-etching is controlled on the basis of the determination to remove the oxide film. Then, the members are aligned in oxidizing atmosphere and soldered in non-oxidizing atmosphere.
