Namely, the liquid level detecting method includes a process of calculating an assumed liquid level value, assuming that the liquid has a prescribed density, based on the liquid pressure; a process of discriminating the concentration of the liquid by a concentration discriminating sensor part (2); a process of obtaining a density value of the liquid, based on the discriminated liquid concentration and a relationship between the concentration and the density of the liquid; and a process of calculating the liquid level based on the assumed liquid level value and the density value.
