摘要: The present invention relates to nucleic acid molecules comprising a double-stranded region, and nucleic acid constructs encoding therfor, that are useful for the treatment and/or prevention of influenza. In particular, the present invention relates to nucleic acid constructs encoding a double stranded RNA molecule(s) that can be used to produce transgenic poultry, for example chickens, such that they are at least less susceptible to an avian influenza infection. Also provided are nucleic acid molecules comprising a double-stranded region that can be used as a therapeutic to treat and/or prevent, for example, avian influenza in poultry.

摘要: The present invention relates generally to the field of sex determination of animals. Provided are methods and agents to manipulate sex determination, particularly in avian animals such as chickens, through a male chromosome-linked testis (sex) regulatory gene. Expression or activity of the DMRT1 gene or protein is modulated to produce animals with displaying a phenotype sex that differs from their genotype.

摘要: The present invention relates to method of identifying gene sequences of potential vaccine antigens. Also included are gene sequences and the polypeptides encoded by the gene sequences as well as the use of such sequences to induce a protective immune response in animals. Particularly, the invention relates to identifying potential antigen gene sequences of Mycoplasma, preferably Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae. In one aspect of the present invention there is provided a method of identifying expression proteins translated from a nucleotide sequence in an expression vector, said method comprising the use of a marker co-expressed with a protein translated from the nucleotide sequence. In a further aspect of the present invention there is provided a method of identifying a therapeutic antigenic gene sequence encoding a therapeutic antigenic protein of a disease, from a sample of nucleotide sequences. Preferably the marker is a polyHis tag.

摘要: The present invention relates to a polypeptide based toxin that originates from Clostridium perfringens. The invention further relates to immunogenic compositions comprising the toxin and methods to vaccinate animals, for example chickens, such that they are less susceptible to clostridial diseases. Methods to determine whether an animal has been exposed to the toxin, polynucleotides encoding the toxin and attenuated bacteria that express a reduced or less active form of the toxin are also disclosed.
