    摘要： The invention provides an ostomy bag assembly comprising outer (2) and inner (4) bags secured to one side of an adhesive flange (6); the adhesive flange (6) having means defining an orifice to enable bodily waste from a stomal opening to be received by the inner bag; wherein the adhesive flange is of laminar construction and comprises, in sequence, from a body-contacting surface outwards: (a) a bioadhesive layer (10) for securing the flange to a body surface of a patient about the stomal opening; (b) a first polymeric support layer (8) attached to the bioadhesive layer (a); (c) a heat sealable layer (16) having a heat sealable adhesive surface which releasably bonds the heat sealable layer to the first polymeric support surface; (d) a second polymeric support layer (14) bonded to the heat sealable layer; (e) a weldable polymeric layer (18) to which the inner and outer bags are attached, the weldable polymeric layer being bonded to the second polymeric support layer; the adhesive flange having an annular channel (20) which surrounds the means defining the orifice and extends through layers (c), (d) and (e) so as to form radially inner (22) and outer (24) attachment zones separated by the annular channel (20), the inner bag (4) being attached to the radially inner attachment zone (22) and outer bag (2) being attached to the radially outer attachment zone (24); and wherein the inner and outer bags (4),(2), together with attached portions of layers (c), (d) and (e) can each be peeled away from the first polymeric support layer (b). Also provided by the invention are adhesive flange blanks from which the ostomy bag assemblies can be manufactured, as well as methods for the manufacture of the ostomy bag assemblies and the adhesive flange blanks.

    摘要： A multi-layer, chlorine-free film for use in an ostomy bag or pouch includes a barrier layer formed from a non-chlorine containing amorphous polyamide resin and a maleic anhydride modified olefin or an epoxy modified olefin. The barrier layer is substantially impermeable to malodor causing compounds. Tie layers are a maleic anhydride grafted resin and contact each side of the barrier layer. Inner layers contact respective tie layers. The inner layers are one of an ethylene propylene copolymer based resin, an ethylene-octene based resin and blends-thereof. Outer layers contact respective inner layers. Each outer layer is an ethylene vinyl acetate or ethylene methyl acrylate copolymer or a blend thereof, or a polypropylene-based resin and blend thereof. The film exhibits high tear strength and low noise levels.

    摘要： A temporary colostomy apparatus for diverting the fecal stream and comprising an open ended excrement tube including a fecal receiving end having a liquid inflatible balloon on the outside thereof. A dissolvable and absorbable band is snugly wrapped around the outside of the colon at a preselected location. The tube is inserted inside the colon through a slit opening, so that the balloon is further inward but adjacent the band. The balloon is inflated so that the outer circular periphery thereof contacts the inside surface of the arrested colon and has a circumference slightly larger than the band. The inflated balloon and the band are in an abutting relationship with a common area of the colon sandwiched therebetween, to prevent outward movement of the tube. A retainer ring is positioned on the disposal end of the tube and pressed against the outside of the body to prevent inward movement of the tube. A disposable bag is secured to the disposal end of the tube on the outside of the body for collecting the fecal stream fully diverted into the receiving end of the tube. The colon is sutured to the abdominal wall adjacent the surgical openings in the colon and abdomen, to further stabilize the position of the tube inside the colon. When normal colon and rectal bowel functions could be resumed and prior to any substantial dissolving of the band, the balloon is deflated and the excrement tube is removed from the colon. The band remains encircled around the colon and in time the band is dissolved, absorbed and excreted from the body.
