Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for extracting cakes resulting from pressurized filtration from a sealed tank (1) in which rotary filters (2) are provided, the tank being provided with a hopper (1b) for recovering solid particles and having an extension, in the lower portion thereof, in the form of a hatch (10) defined between at least two temporary blocking members (11, 12), characterized in that each temporary blocking member includes a rotary shaft (100) transversally arranged in the hatch and bearing at least one set (101, 102, 103) of two diametrically opposite radial fins having a global surface substantially corresponding to the cross-section of the hatch (10) and optionally at least one set of two radial forks (104, 105), as well as peripheral sealing means(102) mounted on the inner wall of the hatch opposite the end edge of said fins. The invention also relates to an associated extraction method.
Abstract:
The invention relates to substituted polycyclic aryl and heteroaryl tertiary-heteroalkylamine compounds useful as inhibitors of cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP; plasma lipid transfer protein-I) and compounds, compositions and methods for treating atherosclerosis and other coronary artery diseases. Preferred tertiary-heteroalkylamine compounds are substituted N-benzyl-N-phenyl aminoalcohols. A preferred specific N-benzyl-N-phenyl aminoalcohol is the compound:

Abstract:
A filtering apparatus and method is disclosed adapted to filter suspended solids from a liquid, consisting of a filter housing which receives a flexible belt filtering element into a filter chamber, the liquid to be passed through the belt to filter out solids. The flexible belt is movably mounted to be passed through end openings on either side of a filter chamber to enable removal of accumulated solids after each filter cycle. The end openings are sealed during filtering cycles by flexible tube segments extending across the openings which are pressurized to effect a seal and evacuated to allow removal of the belt. A series of such filters may be stacked together with a traveling roller assembly utilized for simultaneously moving the belts of each filter in and out of the chamber.
Abstract:
A precision additive dosing device comprising a liquid additive tank, dosing pump, filter, electric actuator, and pump control unit. Upon completion of fueling, the control unit is input with the corresponding volume of fuel just delivered. The pump starts until a time is reached that achieves the correct blend of additive for the fuel. The dosing pump delivers a constant volume of additive with time being the only variable to achieve the correct ratio of additive to fuel. Operation of the pump may be delayed or the time of pump operation may be increased during low ambient temperatures by the pump control circuit. Additionally, a heater may be used to heat the additive in similarly low temperatures.
