摘要: A baffle includes a body member having a first surface, a second opposed surface, and an outer peripheral edge. An aperture may be formed through the body member so as to define an inner peripheral edge. The inner peripheral edge is distorted so as to be non-planar. An apparatus includes a first conduit having a first end, a second end, and a first channel extending therebetween. At least one baffle is disposed in the first channel and includes a body member having a first surface, a second opposed surface, and an outer peripheral edge. At least one aperture may be formed through the body member to define an inner peripheral edge. The inner peripheral edge is distorted so as to be non-planar. A second conduit may be disposed inside the first conduit and extend through the aperture in the baffle. The apparatus may, for example, be configured as an ultraviolet light reactor, a heat exchanger, or a static mixer.

摘要: An apparatus and method for treating effluents is disclosed for selective solids control and/or dewatering of effluents, for example drilling fluids (or mud), slurries or sludges, or other clean up involving solids removal from a hydraulic system where flocculation would be employed. The apparatus is compact and portable for ease of on-site delivery and hookup and includes a plurality of mixers for mixing polymer materials with water and/or the effluent, a plurality of pumps for controlling the flow of effluents, water and mixed liquids, and a plurality of conveniently located valves and pump controls for control of the various functions of the apparatus from a centrally located control panel. An improved mixing device is provided for blending of shear-sensitive fluids which includes multi-port injection sites and a series of geometrical flow altering elements. A device for wetting dry particulate material in a liquid feed stream is provided having a cylindrical funnel eductor and a cyclonic dispersal eductor.

摘要: The invention relates to equipment (10) feeding polymers into a fluid flow which is guided within a pipeline (20) and comprising a control (40) which may be hooked up to a polymer supply line (42), further comprising several feed conduits (70) which are configured between the said control and said pipeline and move the polymers from the control (40) to the pipeline (20). The control (40) of the equipment (10) furthermore includes a valve system (50) designed in a manner that a defined number of feed conduits (70) can be opened or closed. In addition, one static mixer (80, 81) is configured at least in segment(s) in each feed conduit (70). This equipment makes it possible to feed polymers, in particular polymers in aqueous solution and of high molecular weights, at a predetermined pressure and at defined rates into a fluid flow without thereby destroying the molecular chains of said polymers.

摘要: The liquid mixing device has an operative mixing unit having an inside which is substantially hollow; and an injection unit provided in the inside of the operative mixing unit. The injection unit is adapted for allowing a second liquid to be injected into the inside of the operative mixing unit, and the operative mixing unit is provided with: an inlet port for allowing a first liquid to flow thereinto; and an outlet port. The injection unit is provided with an injector element of a tubular form which has: an injection hole(s) so perforated therein as to face toward the outlet port; and an opening region defined therein so as to allow the first liquid to pass rectilinearly therethrough in a direction from the inlet port toward the outlet port. The injector element may be of a generally ringed shape or of a generally “U” shape.

摘要: The present disclosure sets forth a method and apparatus for adjusting the rate at which water is introduced as a cooling and decelerating fluid in mist form into a discharge vent for high velocity superheated steam. An optimum measure of water is determined so that the steam is decelerated to a velocity not lower than about 35% of sonic velocity. Moreover, air is educted into the steam flow to further enhance the cooling and deceleration of the steam which is then vented. By the introduction of air and water mist, the steam is cooled and decelerated, thereby avoiding formation of a sonic wave creating unwanted backpressure and avoiding creation of noise.
