摘要: A combined electrospinning and microextrusion apparatus includes a robotic manipulator having a plurality of degrees of freedom, an end effector supported and movable by the robotic manipulator, a plurality of extruders housed on the end effector, each extruder having an interchangeable nozzle for extrusion of material, a working plane for deposition of extruded material, a pneumatic circuit supplying a fluid flow to the extruders for controlling extrusion of material, and an electric generator selectively activatable to apply a potential difference between the nozzles of the extruders and the working plane. The extruders are capable of operating selectively in microextrusion mode with inactive electric generator or in electrospinning mode with active electric generator, in an independent manner from each other.

摘要: The present invention relates to a material extrusion head comprising at least one material feeding tube for feeding some extrusion material from one or multiple reservoirs to a heating block, the heating block, which comprises a through-hole and is adapted to generate heat for melting the material to be extruded passing by said through-hole, at least one extrusion nozzle provided at the end of the though-hole of the heating block for outputting the molten material, a support element detachably supporting the heating block and mounted on an extrusion system, and at least one rigid heat break tube portion provided at the end of each of the one or multiple material feeding tube and in contact with said heating block and an actioning system adapted to urge an end of each rigid heat break tube portion against said heating block or directly against the extrusion nozzle so as to provide a sealed extrusion material path.

摘要: An additive manufacturing system operates an extruder to extrude a swath of thermoplastic material through at least two nozzles of the extruder to form a swath of thermoplastic material along a path of relative movement between the extruder and a platform. The speed of the extruder along the path corresponds to a predetermined speed selected with reference to an orientation of the extruder and the angle for the path of relative movement between the extruder and the platform. A controller in the system operates at least one actuator operatively connected to at least one of the extruder and the platform to move the at least one of the extruder and the platform relative to the other of the extruder and the platform along the path of relative movement at the predetermined speed to make the swath of the thermoplastic material contiguous in a cross-process direction.

摘要: An extrusion assembly, a method of constructing an extrusion assembly, and an additive manufacturing system including an extrusion assembly are disclosed. The extrusion assembly includes an extrusion die; a channel having an inlet and an outlet, which is in fluid communication with the extrusion die; and a heating element that melts a filament material drive through the channel so that the melted material is extruded by the extrusion die. The heating element can be helically wound about the channel or extend parallel to the channel, among other configurations. Further, the extrusion assembly includes a temperature sensor that is positioned adjacent to the channel between the extrusion die and the heating element. The channel, heating element, and temperature sensor are enclosed together within a sheath as a single integral unit. An additive manufacturing system utilizing the extrusion assembly can include a drive assembly, a support assembly, and a controller.

摘要: An apparatus of manufacturing a rubber member includes an extruder; a mouthpiece; and a support surface which faces the mouthpiece in an opposed manner. The support surface and the mouthpiece are moved relative to each other thus molding a rubber member on the support surface. The apparatus further includes: a rubber pool portion formed between the mouthpiece and the support surface; and a closing surface having an inclined surface shape and capable of closing a moving-direction front side of the rubber pool portion. A rubber material is ejected from an ejection port in a state where the rubber pool portion is closed by the closing surface, the support surface and the mouthpiece are moved relative to each other after the rubber pool portion is filled with the rubber material, and a lamination starting end of the rubber material is pressed to the closing surface thus molding the lamination starting end into an inclined surface and, thereafter, the closing surface is moved in a direction away from the support surface.

摘要: A simultaneous thermoplastic and thermoset deposition system is provided that includes a substrate holder, a thermoplastic molten-material extruder, photo-polymerizing light source, a prepolymer vat, and a controller, where the controller controls the thermoplastic extruder to deposit a thermoplastic layer according to a thermoplastic pattern on the substrate holder, where the controller controls the substrate holder to immerse the thermoplastic layer in the prepolymer vat for coating the thermoplastic layer with a coating of the prepolymer solution, where the controller controls the substrate holder to position the prepolymer coated thermoplastic layer for exposure to the photo-polymerizing light source, where the controller controls the photo-polymerizing light source to cure the prepolymer coating according to a thermoset pattern on the thermoplastic layer, where the controller iteratively controls the substrate holder, the thermoplastic molten-material extruder, and the photo-polymerizing light source to form a thermoset structure that is integrated to a thermoplastic structure.
