摘要: In one aspect, a wound treatment system includes an inner layer comprising a foam material impregnated with a zinc oxide containing composition with or without calamine and/or ichthammol and in the presence or absence of antimicrobial agent (inorganic and/or organic). An optional outer layer comprises a short/long stretch compression bandage. In another aspect, a method of manufacturing the foam article impregnated with the zinc oxide containing composition is disclosed. In yet another aspect, a method of applying the wound treatment system to a patient's leg is disclosed. In still another aspect, a kit is provided including a foam layer impregnated with a zinc oxide containing composition; optionally, an elastic bandage component (e.g., long or short stretch elastic bandage); and, optionally, an outer stocking or sleeve, wherein the bandage system components are packaged together.

摘要: The inventive disclosure contained herein is generally directed to a class of medical bandages that in many embodiments are effective in the treatment of various types of tissue burns, whether be burns due to thermal burns, sun exposure, or rashes. Such products can include a plurality of specialized bandages and wraps that incorporate an extremely thin layer of thermally conductive metal (often aluminum) at the base of a substrate adapted to be in direct contact with a burn wound, while manufacturing the top side of the aluminum substrate to have a heat-dissipation-enhancing topography to help cool burns faster by enhancing thermal-convection properties. The bandage can also feature a thermochromic indicator for users to realize the thermal-cooling status of a burn to which a bandage has been applied.

摘要: Examples of multi-layer bandages and methods for dressing a wound are described. An example multi-layer bandage includes a first layer and second layer and an optional third layer. An exemplary method for dressing a wound may include applying a bandage having a top layer, a middle layer, and a bottom layer to a wound with the bottom layer being provided in contact with the wound, wherein the top layer includes an adhesive for securing the bandage to a surface near the would, and where the bottom layer includes copper; and allowing the bandage to remain over the would for a predetermined period of time. In some examples, the method may further include removing the bottom layer without removing the top and middle layers. In other examples, the method may include removing the bandage when the middle layer or the bottom layer change in color.
