摘要: A blood pump is disclosed. The blood pump apparatus is arranged to provide pulsatile flow, and comprises a flexible inner cylindrical duct providing a blood flow region, and an outer cylindrical duct arranged to surround the inner cylindrical duct and arranged to accommodate a pumping fluid. In the pump the inner cylindrical duct is described as comprising a blood inlet for receiving blood into the region, a blood outlet for passing blood out from the blood flow region and a passageway therebetween. There is also described the feature of the inner duct comprising a non return valve at the blood inlet and a non return valve at the blood outlet, the outer cylindrical duct having a fluid port for a pumping fluid, and a pump device arranged to cyclically deliver and withdraw pumping fluid to the fluid port thereby cyclically compressing and expanding the flexible inner cylindrical duct urging blood through the blood flow region and delivering a pulsating blood flow through the blood outlet.

摘要: The invention relates to a blade-type check valve for gaseous and liquid media, to be used in medical technologies as well as in waste water technology with at least three triangular blades, grouped in round configuration at the edges of a polygonal bore of a valve ring or housing, with the number of blades corresponding to the number of faces of the bore. At least at one of the three sides, the valve blades feature an integrated joint, which may also consist of fabric, whereas the two other sides of the valve blades form an articulated lock. The valve can be installed in any position and closes automatically, actuated by the backflow respectively return flow of the medium, without external energy.

摘要: The invention relates to an arrangement having a blood pump and a gas exchanger for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. According to the invention, the blood pump is designed as a pulsatile blood pump and is arranged with the gas exchanger in the same housing. The pulsatile blood pump and the gas exchanger are preferably connected to the same gas source so that the blood pump can be pneumatically driven. The novel ECMO system has a simple design, is flexible, and in particular can be used directly on the patient.

摘要: An artificial chamber including a first conduit, a second conduit, a third conduit, and a wall defining a space; in which the first conduit and the second conduit are positioned opposite one another; in which the third conduit is opposite the wall; and in which the wall has a concave surface is disclosed. The chamber can be part of a system for providing pulmonary support. The system includes the chamber and a first pump connected to the third conduit, and connected to a fourth conduit; in which the chamber receives fluid via the first conduit and the second conduit, in which the first pump receives fluid from the chamber via the third conduit; and in which the fourth conduit transports fluid from the first pump to a first blood vessel. Methods of making a chamber and a system, and methods of using the chamber and system are also disclosed.

摘要: Membranes are provided to be specially developed for use in chambers for artificial circulatory assistance which may be employed primarily in cardiovascular procedures, notably to produce arterial capacitance, to regulate blood pressure, to produce aortic counterpulsation and to pump blood. The membrane may have circular sections that may vary in size or not depending on the function to be performed and are interconnected so that the transition between one section and the other is smooth, regardless of the size of each section. Further, chambers and pumps may be used for cardiopulmonary bypass and a pumping system.

摘要: A manual clot aspiration and filtration system enables a method of removing a clot without general anesthesia and the expense of an operating room. An aspiration and filtration system for bodily fluid utilizes a syringe coupled with a filter unit to draw bodily fluid through the filter unit to collect debris on the filter. A flow valve may then be turned and the plunger depressed to force the filtered fluid back into the body. The filter may be configured to capture particles such as blood clots and plaque. The filter unit has a cover that can be removed for inspection and/or removal of the collected debris. When the cover is replaced, trapped air may be removed by turning the flow-valve to a purge direction and pressing the plunger into the syringe to force fluid back toward the filter unit to purge the trapped air through the purge valve.

摘要: A blood pumping device having at least a first pump and a second pump, and a first and second pump actuating means for inducing a blood flow in a body's circulatory system is disclosed. Each pump comprises one upper chamber having an inlet channel and one lower chamber having an outlet channel. The upper and lower chambers are separated by a movable valve plane provided with a valve. The pump actuating means are configured to apply a movement to said valve plane in an upward and downward direction between said upper and lower chambers in response to control signals from a control unit, such that when said valve plane moves in an upward direction the valve provided in the valve plane is in an open position allowing a flow of blood from the upper chamber to the lower chamber, and when the valve plane moves in a downward direction the valve is in the closed position and blood is ejected from the lower chamber through the outlet channel. The bottom part of the bag portion has a shape that makes a turn of between 110° to 150° to cause blood entering the lower chamber to hit the stopping surface and come to a sudden stop, wherein the turn causes the flow of blood along the inner surface of the bag portion to abruptly change; and directs blood at the stopping surface to continue flowing along the outlet channel.

Instead of providing a temporary solution for these patients, the devices may be permanently implanted. The devices linearly reciprocate a shuttle within a housing to move blood into and out of the housing, and rotate the shuttle to selectively direct the movement of blood into and out of a plurality of ports in the housing.
