The at least one pod is connected to at least two of the cassettes wherein the pod is located in an area between the cassettes.

摘要: The present invention relates to method for implanting a medical device for controlling a flow of fluid in a lumen formed by a tissue wall of a patient's urethra. The method is performed by: cutting the skin of the patient, inserting a dissecting tool and dissecting an area of at least one portion of the tissue wall of the urethra, placing an adjustable constriction device in the dissected area in operative engagement with the urethra, placing an operation device configured to operate the adjustable constriction device to control the flow of urine in the urethra in the patient's body, placing a sensor configured to sense a temperature of the medical device in the patient's body, and placing a control unit in the patient's body configured to control the operation device based on information from the sensor.

摘要: The invention relates to an arrangement having a blood pump and a gas exchanger for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. According to the invention, the blood pump is designed as a pulsatile blood pump and is arranged with the gas exchanger in the same housing. The pulsatile blood pump and the gas exchanger are preferably connected to the same gas source so that the blood pump can be pneumatically driven. The novel ECMO system has a simple design, is flexible, and in particular can be used directly on the patient.

摘要: Dialysis systems are disclosed comprising new fluid flow circuits. Systems may include blood and dialysate flow paths, where the dialysate flow path includes balancing, mixing, and/or directing circuits. Dialysate preparation may be decoupled from patient dialysis. Circuits may be defined within one or more cassettes. The fluid circuit fluid flow paths may be isolated from electrical components. A gas supply in fluid communication with the dialysate flow path and/or the dialyzer able to urge dialysate through the dialyzer and urge blood back to the patient may be included for certain emergency situations. Fluid handling devices, such as pumps, valves, and mixers that can be actuated using a control fluid may be included. Control fluid may be delivered by an external pump or other device, which may be detachable and/or generally rigid, optionally with a diaphragm dividing the device into first and second compartments.

摘要: An aortic adapter assembly is provided, including a T-shaped flow connector, including: an inserted conduit portion, having a blood-contacting surface which is smooth; an extruded neck portion, wherein the inserted conduit portion is joined with the extruded neck portion; and a truss, disposed in the inserted conduit portion; wherein the T-shaped flow connector has a polymeric elastomer reinforced by the truss having a Nitinol material; wherein the inserted conduit portion has an inner wall which is gradually thinning at two conduit ends of the inserted conduit portion, with a proper distance of a tip of the conduit end to the outmost boundary of the truss, and the conduit end possesses a compliance-matching effect to an implant site artery; wherein a proximal end of the extruded neck portion is configured to be joined with an inlet adapter of a blood pump. The aortic adapter assembly is accompanied with a quick-connector type coupler and a deployment method to accomplish an insertion type flow communication between a ventricular assist device and the human circulation.

摘要: The present invention helps in enabling cardiac recovery in patients with heart failure and for facilitating cardiac muscle regeneration by long term augmentation of the coronary perfusion pressure and thereby the coronary blood flow by using an implantable, preferably self-contained electrically operated pump which takes the oxygen rich blood from one of the chambers of the heart or a large blood vessel, that include the aorta, the subclavian artery, left atrium, one or more pulmonary veins, etc and pumps it into a singular or multitude of coronary arteries through a natural (autologous, homologous or heterologous) or synthetic ‘conduit’, a medium to long term inotropic support to the heart, through a dedicated channel to deliver inotropic and other medicines and stem cells directly into the coronary circulation, where one end of the channel typically ends outside the body and the other end rests inside the lumen of the ‘conduit’ which supplies the oxygenated blood into the coronary arteries; a central processing unit (CPU) with an integrated defibrillator to monitor and control pump speed and flow rates; an implantable power source for the pump which can be charged transcutaneously using an external wireless system (‘TET’: transcutaneous energy transfer systems), to power the pump and the CPU.
