    摘要: The invention comprises at least two independent intake ports 14a, 14b connected to a combustion chamber 15, two intake valves 12a, 12b, and two exhaust valves 13a, 13b. Upper and lower channels 22a, 22b which are defined by a partition wall, and an intake control valve 25 for opening and closing the lower side channel 22b are provided in the interior of the first intake port 14a. An intake control valve 26 for opening and closing the first intake port 14b is also provided. The invention further comprises a controller 50 for controlling the opening and closing of the intake control valves 25 and 26, and the degree of opening of these intake control valves 25 and 26 is controlled in accordance with the operating conditions.

    摘要: In multi-cylinder engine in which an intake valve and a first spark plug arranged side by side along an axis of a camshaft and an exhaust valve and a second spark plug arranged side by side along the axis of the camshaft are disposed in a cylinder head for every combustion chamber, the position of a central portion of an upstream end of an intake port provided in the cylinder head with the intake valve interposed between the intake port and each of the combustion chambers and the position of a central portion of a downstream end of an exhaust port provided in the cylinder head with the exhaust valve interposed between the exhaust port and each of the combustion chambers are set to correspond with each other in the direction along the axis of the camshaft. Thus, the length of the cylinder head is reduced.

    摘要: An engine operating region in which two ignition plugs ignite at different ignition timings is restricted to a region (phase-difference ignition region) where the effect of different ignition timings is remarkably achieved. In the operating region other than the above region, simultaneous ignition is performed. A basic ignition timing IGMAPIN of the intake ignition plugs 8I is calculated by searching a map (S11). In the phase-difference ignition region, a basic ignition timing IGMAPEX of exhaust ignition plugs 8E is calculated by searching a map (S13). By contrast, in the operating region where simultaneous ignition is to be performed, the basic exhaust ignition timing IGMAPEX is set as the basic intake ignition timing IGMAPIN (S14).
