摘要: Deployment of arrangements of computing components coupled over communication fabrics are presented herein. In one example, a method includes forming a compute unit to include at least a selected disaggregated computing component and at least a selected converged computing element. The selected disaggregated computing component is added to the compute unit from a pool of disaggregated computing components having a granularity comprising the disaggregated computing components arbitrarily and separately coupled to a communication fabric. The selected converged computing element is added to the compute unit from a pool of converged computing elements having a granularity comprising sets of computing components with fixed relationships to associated processors.

摘要: Deployment of arrangements of computing components coupled over a communication fabric are presented herein. In one example, a method includes detecting first computing components communicatively coupled to a first communication fabric having a first communication fabric type, and detecting second computing components communicatively coupled to a second communication fabric having a second communication fabric type. The method also includes receiving user commands to form compute units among a pool of computing components comprising the first computing components and the second computing components. Based at least on the user commands, the method includes forming the compute units for use by one or more users.

摘要: In one embodiment, Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) is implemented using Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) Segment Routing (SRv6) underlay network and SRv6-enhanced Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) signaling. A particular route associated with a particular Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) Segment Routing (SRv6) Segment Identifier (SID) is advertised in a particular route advertisement message of a routing protocol (e.g., BGP). The SID includes encoding representing a particular Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) Layer 2 (L2) flooding Segment Routing end function of the particular router and a particular Ethernet Segment Identifier (ESI), with the particular SID including a routable prefix to the particular router. The particular router receives a particular packet including the particular SID; and in response, the particular router performs the particular EVPN end function on the particular packet.

摘要: Techniques for using global virtual network instance (VNI) labels in a multi-domain network to route network data with a multi-tenant network overlay are described herein. A routing device provisioned in a network domain of the multi-domain network may register with a service discovery system of the network domain for use of network configuration data to establish routes through the multi-domain network with network nodes. Each network domain of the multi-domain network may include an application programming interface (API) server for processing API requests to make changes to configurations of a network domain. A border gateway protocol (BGP) large community may be utilized to encode global VNI labels, network addresses, local next hop nodes, and/or additional network information and sent to routing devices provisioned in separate network domains. A service chain may be signaled by global VNI labels to route network traffic through various services prior to reaching a destination endpoint.

摘要: An information processing apparatus connected with one or more apparatuses through a network, comprises: a first acquiring unit configured to acquire first address information for indicating one of addresses in the network among addresses of the apparatuses and first apparatus specific information for identifying the apparatuses; a second acquiring unit configured to acquire second apparatus specific information for identifying an apparatus indicated by the first address information acquired by the first acquiring unit; a determining unit configured to determine whether the first apparatus specific information acquired by the first acquiring unit is the same as the second apparatus specific information acquired by the second acquiring unit or not; and a process requesting unit configured to request the apparatus indicated by the first address information to perform a certain process upon the determining unit determining the first apparatus specific information to be the same as the second apparatus specific information.

摘要: Virtual machine environments are provided in the switches that form a network, with the virtual machines executing network services previously performed by dedicated appliances. The virtual machines can be executed on a single multi-core processor in combination with normal switch functions or on dedicated services processor boards. Packet processors analyze incoming packets and add a services tag containing services entries to any packets. Each switch reviews the services tag and performs any network services resident on that switch. This allows services to be deployed at the optimal locations in the network. The network services may be deployed by use of drag and drop operations. A topology view is presented, along with network services that may be deployed. Services may be selected and dragged to a single switch or multiple switches. The management tool deploys the network services software, with virtual machines being instantiated on the switches as needed.

摘要: In one embodiment, a networking device in a network detects an traffic flow conveyed in the network via the networking device. The networking device generates flow data for the traffic flow. The networking device performs a classification of the traffic flow using the flow data as input to a machine learning-based classifier. The networking device performs a mediation action based on the classification of the traffic flow.

摘要: Devices and techniques for packet arbitration for buffered packets in a network device are described herein. A packet can be received at an input of the network device. The packet can be placed in a buffer for the input and a characteristic of the packet can be obtained. A record for the packet, that includes the characteristic, is written into a data structure that is independent of the buffer. Arbitration, based on the characteristic of the packet in the record, can then be performed among multiple packets to select a next packet from the buffer for delivery to an output.
