Food additive compositions which comprise 100 parts by weight of at least one magnesium ingredient selected among magnesium hydroxide, magnesium silicate, magnesium oxide, magnesium phosphate, and magnesium hydrogen phosphate and 2 to 55 parts by weight of at least one emulsion stabilizer selected among polyglycerol/fatty acid esters, gum arabic, processed starch, sucrose/fatty acid esters having an HLB of 8 or higher, carboxymethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, propylene glycol alginate, water-soluble soybean polysaccharides, polyphosphates, gum ghatti, phospholipids, and arabino galactan. The food additive compositions can be formulated so as to have a high concentration. They are excellent in dispersibility in liquids and flavor.

The present invention is directed to compositions comprising:a) a first component which is arabinogalactan; and b) a second component comprising two or more vitamins selected from the group consisting of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, and B-complex vitamins. In an alternative embodiment of the present invention, the compositions comprise: a) a first component which is arabinogalactan; and b) a second component comprising one or more vitamins selected from the group consisting of vitamin A, vitamin D, and vitamin E. The present compositions are useful to provide beverages which increase the solubility of fat-soluble vitamins, and deliver the benefits of fiber, one or more of the defined vitamins, and / or provide other health benefits, including fighting infection, promoting healthy bacteria, and providing a desired dietary fiber benefit. Additionally, the present invention provides beverage compositions having excellent taste, and other organoleptic properties, despite the inclusion of the fiber and vitamin components. These and other benefits of the present invention are described herein.

Described herein are compositions comprising short and long chain fatty acids which are suitable for oral administration, wherein the compositions are useful for the management of body weight. For example, as described, body weight management may be effected via induction of satiety, by using a composition of the present invention. In particular, the described compositions comprise: (a) a short chain fatty acid component selected from the group consisting of acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, esters thereof, salts thereof, and mixtures thereof; and (b) a long chain fatty acid component selected from the group consisting of long chain fatty acids, non-glyceryl esters of long chain fatty acids, and mixtures thereof;wherein the compositions are suitable for oral administration to a mammal. Further described are methods of using the present compositions for the management of body weight.

Beschrieben werden feste und stabile creatin/Citronensäure-Zusammensetzung(en) und Kohlenhydrat(e) bzw. deren Hydrate enthaltende Formulierungen mit einem Gewichtsverhältnis der Bestandteile Kreatin/Citronensäure-Zusammensetzung(en) und Kohlenhydrat(e) von 1:0,01 bis 1,0. Als Kohlenhydrat-Komponenten, die in wasserfreier Form, als Hydrate oder feuchte Produkte eingesetzt werden können, kommen prinzipiell alle Polyhydroxyaldehyde und -ketone in Frage. Die Kreatin-Komponente wird vorzugsweise in wasserfreier Form, in wässriger, alkoholischer oder organischer Lösung eingesetzt. Die Herstellung der Formulierungen sollte vorzugsweise durch Umsetzung der Kohlenhydrate in Form von Lösungen, Suspensionen oder als Festsubstanz mit der Kreatin/Citronensäure-Zusammensetzung oder deren Lösung bei -20 bis 120 °C und gegebenenfalls einer abschliessenden Abtrennung der flüssigen Phase erfolgen oder aber durch eine thermische Behandlung, eine Behandlung mit Ultraschall oder Mikrowelle von Gemengen bestehend aus der Kreatin-Komponente und festen Kohlenhydraten, vorzugsweise im Vakuum. There is provided a preparation comprising Bifidobacterium breve and a mixture of non-digestible carbohydrates for non- or partially breast-fed infants as well as the use thereof for the treatment or prevention of immune disorder in non- or partially breast-fed infants. Also provided herein are sequence primers and probe for the detection of Bifidobacterium species as well as diagnostic kit thereof.

The compositions are useful for stabilizing the defined protein components in the presence of fiber, optionally at low pH. In particular, the present compositions comprise arabinogalactan and a defined protein component, particularly dairy protein or soy protein, without compromising taste, appearance, stability, and/or bioavailability.
