Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines aus einer Kunststoffkomponente (14) und aus einer Metallkomponente (12) bestehenden Hybrid-Bauteiles (10). Um ein hinsichtlich seiner Verbindungstechnik im Sinne eines verringerten Aufwands verbessertes Verfahren sowie dadurch einen Metall-Kunststoff-Verbundkörper (10) zu schaffen, der sich, insbesondere bei hoher mechanischer Beanspruchbarkeit, durch eine einfache und kostengünstige Herstellungsweise auszeichnet, wird vorgeschlagen, dass aus der Kunststoffkomponente (14) und aus der Metallkomponente (12) mittels eines zwischen der Kunststoffkomponente (14) und der Metallkomponente (14) angeordneten Haftvermittlers (16) durch Fügen unter Wärmeeinwirkung und Druck ein stoffschlüssiger Verbund hergestellt wird, wobei über die Metallkomponente (12), z.B. von einem Heizelement (22) her, eine Wärmeeintragung erfolgt.

A method of forming a headliner including a fluted paper central substrate includes forming a fluted paper substrate in a first forming tool (40). The formed substrate (44) is then moved to a second bonding tool (46). A cover layer (22) and an adhesive layer (24) are actuated in the bonding tool to secure the cover layer to the substrate. The bonding tool preferably consists of a heated upper portion (48) adjacent the cover layer and the adhesive, and a cooled lower portion (52) which receives the base material. The use of the cooled bottom portion maintains the dimensional accuracy of the base layer during the bonding process. The heated upper layer ensures efficient and quick actuation of the adhesive to bond the cover layer to the substrate.

The problem of providing a method that ensures an improvement in the process reliability in the production of sandwich composite materials from semi-finished products coated with at least one plastic layer on one side is solved by activating the plastic layer of the semi-finished products directly from the side of the semi-finished product coated with plastic.

In the manufacture of multichamber tubular containers it has been found that the inner divider walls (12) should be bonded to the exterior wall (10) by means of a band sealing method. In the band sealing method there is a band (30) that contacts the upper film and a band (32) that contacts the lower film that are to be bonded. In the present processes the upper band contacts the inner divider wall while the lower band contacts the exterior surface of the outer wall of the tubular container. In order to prevent the marring or otherwise putting a defect into the exterior surface of the outer wall the temperature of the lower band is maintained at a lower temperature than the upper band. This will decrease the temperature of the exterior surface of the outer wall and prevent imperfections in the exterior surface of the outer wall. The advantage is a multichamber tubular container without any imperfections in the exterior surface. This enhances the overall appearance of the tubularcontainer.

The ultrasonic vibration energy on the other hand is used for liquefying or at least plasticizing the thermoplastic polymer of the named device portion (1.1).

According to the invention, welded moldings are provided which exhibit high strength in the weld and have excellent surface profile free from thermal damage.
