A collision judgment apparatus includes: a distance detecting unit detecting distance between a vehicle and an object; a relative speed detecting unit detecting a relative speed therebetween; a margin time calculation unit calculating a time to collision therebetween, based on the distance and the relative speed; an angle detecting unit detecting an angle of the object with respect to a running direction of the vehicle; a variation calculation unit calculating a variation of the angle over time; a setting unit setting a judgment value such that the shorter the margin time, the larger the judgment value; and a judgment unit judging that the vehicle is likely to collide with the object when the variation of the angle calculated by the variation calculation unit is lower than the judgment value set by the setting unit.

A vehicle control device is configured to: execute vehicle speed maintaining control for causing the vehicle speed to coincide with a set vehicle speed; start first control, for causing the acceleration to coincide with target acceleration for keeping maintaining acceleration no higher than limit acceleration, or second control, for controlling the acceleration such that the vehicle speed is kept no higher than a limit vehicle speed lower than the set vehicle speed, as limit control when a traffic signal correlated distance correlated with a traffic signal distance to a stop instructing traffic signal is determined to become a first threshold or less during execution of the vehicle speed maintaining control; and suspend the vehicle speed maintaining control and the limit control when a driver operates a deceleration operator during execution of the limit control.

A vehicle control apparatus performing an automatic driving of a vehicle includes: a vehicle information acquiring unit that acquires vehicle information related to a nearby vehicle; a setting unit that sets an intervehicle margin between the vehicle and the nearby vehicle by using the vehicle information, and determines a change timing of a travelling speed of the vehicle depending on the intervehicle margin; and a driving control unit that performs in a lane change operation, a control of changing the travelling speed of the vehicle at the change timing, and a control of an intervehicle distance between the vehicle and a preceding vehicle of the vehicle after the lane change operation.

A collision mitigation device sets an actuation condition indicating a condition for actuating a collision mitigating section configured to mitigate collision damage when an own vehicle is in a collision. A target object is positioned near the own vehicle and detected. The collision mitigating section is actuated when a positional relationship between the own vehicle and the target object meets the actuation condition. The collision mitigation device recognizes an own vehicle traveling segment that indicates a traveling segment of a road on which the own vehicle is traveling, and recognizes whether or not the target object is present within the own vehicle traveling segment. The actuation condition is relaxed in such a manner that the collision mitigating section is more easily actuated when the target object is present within the own vehicle traveling segment, compared to when the target object is not present within the own vehicle traveling segment.
