摘要: A coating composition for producing high performance heat-resistant coating materials for a variety of substrates including steel and metal and non-metal substrates as well as laminate structures and self-contained substrates. The coating composition includes an epoxy resin system comprising a fluorene-structured epoxy monomers and the like, along with a crosslinker or curing agent and a catalyst or catalyst package. The coating compositions when amine-, phenyl hydroxyl-, or carboxyl-functional may also be used as crosslinkers or curing agents.

摘要: The disclosure relates to epoxidized lignin prepolymers, related methods of making the prepolymers, cured epoxy resins formed from the prepolymers, articles including a coating of the cured epoxy resins, and related curing methods and compositions. The epoxidized lignin prepolymer has an epoxide functionality in a range of 2 to 8 and a high solubility in various common organic solvents. The high solubility permits incorporation of the epoxidized lignin prepolymer into an epoxy system which cures after addition of curing agents at high enough concentrations to allow replacement of conventional epoxide prepolymers at levels up to 100% replacement. Using other biobased materials in addition to lignin, for example biobased epichlorohydrin to epoxidize the lignin and a biobased hardener to cure the prepolymer, can provide a corresponding cured epoxy resin that is formed from completely biobased materials.

摘要: The present disclosure discloses a waterborne epoxy resin for an anti-corrosion coating, and a preparation method and use thereof. In the preparation method, a strongly-hydrophilic polyethylene glycol (PEG) branch is introduced into a molecular chain of epoxy resin to realize the self-emulsification function of epoxy resin. Moreover, due to the short molecular chain, a solid content can reach up to 66.7% under the action of PEG. In addition, the waterborne emulsion can be prepared without adding any additional alcohol-soluble solvents and other high-boiling-point organic solvents, and a production process and a product use process both are very environmentally friendly. The waterborne epoxy resin can be mixed with a waterborne ammonia curing agent to form a film for corrosion protection.

摘要: Co-cured urethane and vinyl ester, epoxy, or unsaturated polyester gel coats having improved toughness and flexibility compared with conventional polyester gel coats are disclosed. The gel coats, which have 10-50 wt. % urethane content, adhere well to structural layers and can be used in a traditional in-mold process. Co-cured elastomeric coatings comprising from 50 to 95 wt. % of a urethane component and an unsaturated polyester, epoxy, or vinyl ester are also disclosed. Unlike conventional urethane coatings, the elastomeric coatings adhere well to structural layers and can be used in a traditional in-mold process. Castings or structural layers comprising a reinforced thermoset of co-cured urethane and vinyl ester, epoxy, or unsaturated polyester components, including 10-95 wt. % of the urethane component, are also described. The invention includes in-mold processes for making laminates that utilize the gel coats, elastomeric coatings, and/or structural layers. The in-mold process gives flexible, durable, urethane-containing laminates having good interlayer adhesion.
