    Abstract: Provided is a member in which the strength of a second layer located on the outermost surface of the exterior is improved in order to sufficiently exhibit and maintain the functions, to thereby improve impact resistance and scratch resistance. The member is a member including a base material, a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer in the stated order, wherein the first layer is an inorganic porous layer in which a plurality of inorganic particles are joined to each other, and the first layer and the second layer have a total thickness of 0.3 μm or more and 2 μm or less, wherein the third layer contains a resin and has a thickness of 0.4 μm or more and 2,000 μm or less, and wherein the second layer contains the inorganic particles and the resin.

    Abstract: A coating material is a coating material used for applying a coating film formed on a coating made of a zinc-containing material formed in contact with a surface of a metal material and is composed of a binder, a first inorganic material, and a second inorganic material. The binder is composed of an organic resin and does not contain metallic zinc and a zinc alloy. The first inorganic material is composed of a sulfate having a solubility lower than 5 g/100 mL with respect to water. The second inorganic material is soluble in water, exhibits alkalinity if dissolved in water, and has a solubility lower than 5 g/100 mL with respect to water.

    Abstract: A coated steel sheet has a coating film on at least one side of a plated steel sheet. The coating film contains a binder resin, non-oxide ceramic particles containing V (excluding VC particles), and doped zinc oxide particles. The respective contents of the non-oxide ceramic particles containing V and the doped zinc oxide particles relative to the coating film satisfy the expressions: [(1) CZn≥10.0, (2) CV≤0.5·CZn, (3) CV≤70−CZn, (4) CV≥0.125·CZn, and (5) CV≥2.0], where CV represents the content (mass %) of the non-oxide ceramic particles containing V, and CZn represents the content (mass %) of the doped zinc oxide particles. The coated steel sheet is excellent in both corrosion resistance before electrodeposition coating, and weldability.

    Abstract: Provided is an aqueous coating composition capable of forming a coating film having superior metallic coating film appearance and coating film properties and reducing the amount of an organic solvent to be used. Also provided is a method for forming a metallic coating film using such an aqueous coating composition. Provided is an aqueous coating composition comprising a coating film-forming resin, a curing agent, a scaly pigment, an inorganic viscosity agent, a hydrophobic associative viscosity agent, and a dispersant, wherein the composition contains the inorganic viscosity agent in an amount of 1 to 7 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the total resin solid content of the coating film-forming resin and the curing agent, and the composition contains the hydrophobic associative viscosity agent in an amount of 1 to 15 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the total resin solid content of the coating film-forming resin and the curing agent.
