Abstract:
A first holding unit (114) reciprocates between a first table (121) and a stacking table (141) and a second holding unit (115) reciprocates between the stacking table (141) and a second table (141). When the first holding unit (114) holds a separator-electrode assembly (20) whose horizontal position has been adjusted on the first table (121), the second holding unit (115) releases a second electrode (30) over the stacking table (141). When the first holding unit (114) releases the separator-electrode assembly (20) over the stacking table (141), the second holding unit (115) holds the second electrode (30) whose horizontal position has been adjusted on the second table (131). The present invention provides a stacking device and a stacking method which are capable of stacking the separator-electrode assembly including a first electrode sandwiched by separators and the second electrode having a different polarity from the first electrode efficiently with high accuracy.

Abstract:
A method of making a matrix type piezoelectric/electrostrictive device having a plurality of pillar shaped piezoelectric/electrostrictive elements, each having a piezoelectric/electrostrictive substance and at least a pair of electrodes being formed on the sides of the substance, are vertically provided on a thick ceramic substrate, such that the device is driven by displacement of the piezoelectric/electrostrictive substance. In this device, the piezoelectric/electrostrictive elements are integrally bonded to the ceramic substrate and independently arranged in two dimensions. The percentage of transgranularly fractured crystal grains on at least the sides of the piezoelectric/electrostrictive substance on which the electrodes are formed is 10% or less. The unit forms a curved surface near a joined section between the substance and the substrate.

A measuring system according to the present invention includes a biosensor 29, a measuring device 54 for assaying a specified component in a biological sample applied to the sensor 29, optional indicating equipment 56 which can be removed from the measuring device 54 and announces a measurement result by the measuring device 54 or the like by voice, and a guide 50 for guiding a target to be measured to the sensor 29. According to this measuring system, it is possible to remove the difficulty of performing locating operations when a blind person or a person having weak eyesight attaches/detached the sensor 29 to/from a connector 13 of the measuring device 54 or applies body fluid such as blood to the end of the sensor 29.
Abstract:
A piezoelectric/electrostrictive device 10 includes a stationary portion 11; a thin-plate portion 12 supported by the stationary portion; and a piezoelectric/electrostrictive element 14 including a plurality of electrodes and a plurality of piezoelectric/electrostrictive layers arranged alternatingly In layers. The piezoelectric/electrostrictive device 10 is manufactured by the steps of forming a piezoelectric/electrostrictive laminate by alternatingly laminating laminar electrodes and piezoelectric/electrostrictive layers on a plane of a thin-plate member adapted to form the thin-plate portion 12, and cutting the thin-plate member and the piezoelectric/electrostrictive laminate. The cutting step is performed by advancing a wire member (wire saw) reciprocating in a direction parallel to the direction of lamination of the piezoelectric/electrostrictive laminate while holding the wire member substantially parallel to the direction of lamination. Thus, since the laminar electrodes are cut while being extended within corresponding layer planes, the degree of covering the end surfaces of the piezoelectric/electrostrictive layers decreases.

Abstract:
A refrigerating and air-conditioning system includes a refrigerating machine connected to a showcase by a first refrigerant flow passage, an air-conditioning apparatus for connection of an indoor equipment and an outdoor equipment by means of a second refrigerant flow passage, which forms a different refrigerant circuit from a refrigerant circuit formed by the first refrigerant flow passage, and a centralized control unit for controlling the refrigerating machine and the air-conditioning apparatus, the centralized control unit configured to reduce a cooling operation set temperature in the air-conditioning apparatus relative to a fixed value according to a load on the showcase. When a load on the showcase increases, an indoor temperature is reduced by the air-conditioning apparatus so that a load on the showcase is reduced, reduction in operating efficiency of the refrigerating machine is suppressed, and an improvement in energy saving quality is achieved.
