Abstract:
An embodiment or embodiments of an electronic device can comprise an input interface and a hardware component coupled to the input interface. The input interface can be operable to receive a plurality of taint indicators corresponding to at least one of a plurality of taints indicative of potential security risk which are injected from at least one of a plurality of resources. The hardware component can be operable to track the plurality of taints.
Abstract:
Structures and protocols are presented for signaling a status or decision concerning a wireless service or device within a region to a network participant or other communication device (smartphone or motor vehicle, e.g.).
Abstract:
A device embodiment includes, but is not limited to, a deformable substrate; a sensor assembly coupled to the deformable substrate, the sensor assembly including a proximity sensor configured to generate one or more sense signals associated with a proximity of an environmental object relative to the body portion; circuitry operably coupled to the sensor assembly and configured to receive the one or more sense signals and to determine whether the proximity of the environmental object relative to the body portion changes over a time period; and a reporting device operably coupled to the circuitry and configured to generate one or more communication signals associated with one or more of the environmental object or a change in proximity of the environmental object relative to the body portion responsive to instruction by the circuitry.
Abstract:
A computer system includes but is not limited to a primary processing circuitry, a bus coupled to the primary processing circuitry, and memory circuitry coupled to the bus. The memory circuitry is physically separated from the primary processing circuitry. The memory circuitry includes at least one integrated memory circuit and computational circuitry. The at least one integrated memory circuit configured to store and retrieve data and to provide to the bus, during accessing intervals, requested data for the primary processing circuitry. The computational circuitry co-located with the at least one integrated memory circuit, the computational circuitry co-located with integrated memory circuit can be configured for performing supplemental functions at least partially during time periods that are not accessing intervals.
Abstract:
An embodiment of a device includes at least one sensor, a determiner, and a notifier. The at least one sensor is configured to be located on a body portion of a subject and to sense an object. The determiner is configured to determine, in response to the sensor, whether the body portion may contact the object. The notifier is configured to notify the subject in response to the determiner determining that the body portion may contact the object. Such a device (e.g., attached to, or part of, a shoe) may be useful to warn a subject of a potential collision between an object (e.g., stairs, furniture, door jamb, curb, toy) and a body part (e.g., foot, toes) in which the subject has lost feeling, the ability to feel pain, or proprioception. And such a warning may help the subject to avoid inadvertently and repeatedly injuring the body part.
Abstract:
A method of processing material includes positioning a transmitter to engage an ore sample with a sub-millisecond electromagnetic pulse, the ore sample including a conductive mineral particle and a volume of a gangue, specifying a characteristic of the electromagnetic pulse based on a desired energy deposition for the conductive mineral particle using a processing circuit, and selectively depositing energy with the electromagnetic pulse to at least one of melt and vaporize the conductive mineral particle by controlling the transmitter with the processing circuit.
Abstract:
A vehicle may be configured to determine a characteristic of a software program operating on the vehicle. The characteristic may be provided to an insurer, and the insurer may determine a property of an insurance policy based on the characteristic. The characteristic may be, for example, a feature, a setting, and/or a version of the software program. The insurer may indicate to a vehicle operator and/or owner how changing the characteristic may affect the property of the insurance policy. The insurance policy may be formalized and agreed to by the insurer and/or the insured. The vehicle may also or instead save pre-collision status data, such adjustable parameters, internal variables, dynamic decisions, and/or identification of a software program, when a collision is detected. The pre-collision status data may be used to diagnose problems with the software program, determine fault, and/or determine future properties of insurance policies.

A method substantially as shown and described in the detailed description and/or drawings and/or elsewhere herein. A device substantially as shown and described in the detailed description and/or drawings and/or elsewhere herein.
Abstract:
An electronic device may include a touch screen electronic display configured to offset and/or shift the contact locations of touch implements and/or displayed content based on one or more calculated parallax values. The parallax values may be associated with the viewing angle of an operator relative to the display of the electronic device. In various embodiments, the parallax value(s) may be calculated using three-dimensional location sensors, an angle of inclination of a touch implement, and/or one or more displayed calibration objects. Parallax values may be utilized to remap contact locations by a touch implement, shift and/or offset displayed content, and/or perform other transformations as described herein. A stereoscopically displayed content may be offset such that a default display plane is coplanar with a touch surface rather than a display surface. Contacts by a finger may be remapped using portions of the contact region and/or a centroid of the contact region.
Abstract:
A helmet testing apparatus including a movable member, a sensor coupled to the movable member and configured to acquire compliance data regarding a liner disposed within a shell of a helmet through engagement of the sensor with the liner, and a processing circuit configured to determine a rating for the helmet based on the compliance data and predetermined compliance parameters for the helmet.
