摘要: A system and associated methods of operation for regulating an environmental variable (such as ambient room temperature) within a target zone. The system includes an occupancy sensor configured to monitor the target zone and determine a number of inhabitants present within the zone. The occupancy sensor generates an occupancy signal communicating the number of detected inhabitants to an environmental control system. Upon receiving the occupancy signal, the environmental control system regulates an environmental variable within the zone based on the number of inhabitants present in the zone.

摘要: The present disclosure provides systems and methods associated with determining velocity and/or acceleration information using ultrasound. A system may include one or more ultrasonic transmitters and/or receivers. An ultrasonic transmitter may be configured to transmit ultrasound into a region bounded by one or more surfaces. The ultrasonic receiver may detect a Doppler shift of reflected ultrasound to determine an acceleration and/or velocity associated with an object. The velocity and/or acceleration information may be utilized to modify the state of a gaming system, entertainment system, infotainment system, and/or other device. The velocity and/or acceleration date may be used in combination with a mapping or positioning system that generates positional data associated with the objects.

摘要: Devices, systems, and methods are described including a lift garment having a fabric-like material shaped to encircle a torso and at least a portion arms and legs of a subject; at least one lift attachment element associated with the fabric-like material at at least one of one or more lift attachment sites, the at least one lift attachment element configured to attach the lift garment to a lift apparatus; one or more physiological sensors configured to measure at least one physiological parameter of the subject; a microcontroller including circuitry configured to receive and process information regarding the measured at least one physiological parameter of the subject; and a reporting device operably coupled to the microcontroller and configured to transmit one or more signals indicative of the processed information regarding the measured at least one physiological parameter of the subject.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to systems for tuning nanocube plasmonic resonators and methods for forming tunable plasmonic resonators. A tunable plasmonic resonator system can include a substrate and a nanostructure positioned on a surface of the substrate. The substrate can include a semiconductor material having a carrier density distribution. A junction can be formed between the nanostructure and the substrate forming a Schottky junction. Changing the carrier density distribution of the semiconductor material can change a plasmonic response of the plasmonic resonator.

摘要: Described embodiments include an electromagnetic beam steering apparatus. The apparatus includes a first planar component including a first artificially structured effective media having a first tangential refractive index gradient configured to deflect incident electromagnetic beams at a first deflection angle. The apparatus includes a second planar component includes a second artificially structured effective media having a second tangential refractive index gradient configured to deflect incident electromagnetic beams at a second deflection angle. The apparatus includes an electromagnetic beam steering structure configured to independently rotate the first planar component and the second planar component about a coaxial axis such that an electromagnetic beam incident on the first planar component exits the second planar component as a steered electromagnetic beam.

摘要: An energy transfer apparatus includes a cable having first end with a first connector operably coupled thereto and a second end with a second connector operably coupled thereto. The energy transfer apparatus also includes a control unit coupled to the cable. The control unit includes a device interface module configured to determine a first energy parameter of a first portable device connected to the cable via the first connector and to determine a second energy parameter of a second portable device connected to the cable via the second connector. The control unit also includes an energy transfer module configured to facilitate energy transfer between the first and second portable devices based on the first and second energy parameters.
