Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for applying a hot-melt to a web of material. The device includes a driven roller and a nozzle with a nozzle channel arranged adjacent the driven roller for supplying a hot melt through the nozzle channel to the surface of the roller. The invention also relates to a combination of a device according to the invention and a web of material, which web of material is guided along the driven roller and wherein the nozzle channel exits in front of the nip of the web of material and the driven roller.
Abstract:
A metering rod assembly including a body for accommodating a metering rod insert and configured to clamp the metering rod and/or metering rod insert without the use of an auxiliary clamping device, such as a pressure tube or the like. A rod bed insert is supported in a tapered channel of a body whereby a clamping action is created during use. In another embodiment, the body includes a hinge portion that facilitates relative rotation between upper and lower jaws to create a clamping action during use.
Abstract:
The invention relates to method and apparatus for lining the cathode of the electrolytic cell. The method comprises filling the cell's shell with powder material, leveling it with a rack, covering the fill material with a dust-proof film, and compaction. Compaction is performed in two stages: preliminary static and final dynamic treatment by consequent movement of static and dynamic work tools of compaction along the longitudinal axis of the cathode of the electrolytic cell through a cushion, which is made of at least 2 layers: a lower layer, which prevents pushing powder material forward in the direction of travel, and an upper layer, which provides for a coupling between the cushion and the static work tool. Static treatment unit of the apparatus, designed in the form of a roller with a drive, is connected to a dynamic treatment unit with a vibratory exciter by means of elastic elements.
Abstract:
A slurry application device includes: a slurry supply unit configured to supply slurry to a surface of a traveling base material; a slurry application unit including a first roll body disposed at the downstream side in relation to the slurry supply unit and configured to press the first roll body against the slurry to apply the slurry onto the surface and to adjust an adhesion amount of the slurry such that a film thickness of the slurry becomes one time or more and two times or less of a target film thickness; and a slurry adhesion amount adjustment unit including a second roll body disposed at the downstream side in relation to the slurry application unit and configured to press the second roll body against the slurry to adjust the slurry adhesion amount such that the film thickness of the slurry becomes the target film thickness.
Abstract:
A dimensionally stable universal floor covering includes a tufted textile substrate and a reinforcement layer to provide dimensional stability for the entire floor covering. Vacuum, mixing, and injection of compressed air assists in preparing an adhesive and fiber composition to be in the preferred condition and position before the application of pressure to form the reinforcement layer. The universal floor covering is selectively cut and transported in a roll for installation, and it can be conveniently recycled if necessary.
Abstract:
A manufacturing apparatus of a coating film product rolls a mixture coating material by a first roll and transfers the mixture coating material to a coated object in motion to thereby manufacture the coating film product. An arithmetic average roughness Ra on a roll surface of the first roll is higher than a value 0.05 times of a particle size “d10” in which an integrated distribution of particle sizes of particles included in the mixture coating material is 10% and lower than a value 20 times a particle size “d90” in which an integrated distribution is 90%.
Abstract:
A dimensionally stable floor covering, comprising a tufted textile substrate and a reinforcement layer wherein vacuum is used to move adhesive into stitch portions of the yarns and into the back side of the primary backing substrate to provide increased dimensional stability for the entire floor covering. Mixing of reinforcement fibers and adhesive takes place before in situ filtration of the adhesive and fibers. Further, compressed air is injected into the adhesive/fiber composition to provide spaces between the fibers before application of pressure to the composition. The vacuum, mixing, and injection of compressed air assist in preparing the adhesive and fiber composition to be in the preferred condition and position before the application of pressure to the composition.
Abstract:
A rod-bed assembly has a holder (30) and an insert (20) removably and insertably supported in a groove (31) of the holder (30), the rod-bed assembly being for a rod (10) rotatably supported in a recess (21) on a front side of the insert (20). Longitudinal bending of the holder (30) in a cross-direction is under 0.5%, advantageously under 0.35%, of the longitudinal distance between two profiling loading points of the holder (30).
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are presented. A first roller has a sensor that senses a speed of the workpiece while the workpiece is in contact with the first roller and moving relative to the first roller causing the first roller to rotate. The sensor senses the speed of the workpiece from a rotation of the first roller. A second roller causes the sealant on the second roller to be applied to a surface of the workpiece when the workpiece is in contact with the second roller and moving relative to the second roller. The second roller is rotationally linked to the first roller. A third roller causes the sealant on the surface of the workpiece to spread on the surface when the workpiece is in contact with the third roller and moving relative to the third roller. The third roller is rotationally linked to the second roller.
Abstract:
There is provided an applicator that applies a coating liquid onto the upper surface of a web, and an application method which are capable of sufficiently enhancing the evenness of a coating surface. The applicator includes: a bar which rotates while coming into contact with the upper surface of the continuously travelling web via the coating liquid; and a barrier plate which is provided on an upstream side of the bar in a travelling direction of the web and allows the coating liquid to flow in a direction toward the web between the barrier plate and the bar, in which, when a distance between the barrier plate and an end edge portion of the bar, which is closest to the barrier plate, is referred to as A and a distance between the barrier plate and the web is referred to as B, A is 0.5 mm to 5 mm, B is 0.5 mm to 5 mm, and is satisfied.
