摘要: Liquid fuel is supplied at atmospheric pressure or through a pressure regulator reducing the pressure thereon below atmospheric and then to a preheating-mixing chamber where a portion of the exhaust gases from a reciprocating piston cylinder, or warm air, or a mixture of both, is circulated around the liquid fuel preheating and vaporizing the same. A mixture of fuel and exhaust gas or warm air is then formed in the preheating-mixing chamber with portions of said gas mixture transmitted through a throttle valve to the preferably uninhibited air intake of a main intake valve and to the air intake of an antechamber opening into the cylinder. An auxiliary valve at the antechamber admits the fuel-exhaust-air gas mixture into said antechamber with ignition means igniting the same therein and through such ignition igniting the main charge of fuel-exhaust-air gas mixture from the main intake valve, the combination driving the piston of the cylinder. An electric resistance heater may be provided in the preheating-mixing chamber for vaporizing the entering liquid fuel prior to starting the engine and the initial starting of the engine may be accomplished by a fuel-air gas mixture solely within the antechamber and while the fuel-exhaust gas throttle valve to the main intake is closed.

摘要: Disclosed are two system devices for stratified injecting the recirculated exhaust gas and high-specific-heat-capacity or inert gas for clean combustion of an internal combustion engine. The former is composed of an exhaust gas recirculation system, an injection system, and a power system. The latter is composed of four parts, and a high-specific-heat-capacity gas or inert gas channel is added. Injectors can be arranged at any position in the cylinder between a top dead center and a bottom dead center of a piston in a cylinder; 1-3 layers of injectors can be arranged; and 2-6 injectors can be arranged on each layer. Gas participating in combustion enters the cylinder from two intake channels, namely, a scavenging port of the internal combustion engine and the injectors; an in-cylinder swirl ratio can be remarkably increased through kinetic energy carried by the gas; and fuel-gas mixing is promoted, and the combustion rate is increased.

摘要: There is provided a controller for an internal combustion engine that includes an exhaust gas recirculation device. The exhaust gas recirculation device includes an exhaust gas recirculation passage, which connects a portion of the intake passage located at a downstream side of the throttle valve with an exhaust passage, a recirculation valve, which opens and closes the exhaust gas recirculation passage, and an actuator, which drives and opens the recirculation valve. The controller includes a processor configured to execute a fuel cut-off process that stops fuel injection from the fuel injection valve, to open the recirculation valve when the fuel cut-off process is executed, and to execute a pressure increase process that increases pressure of the portion of the intake passage at the downstream side of the throttle valve before opening the recirculation valve.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for operating a split exhaust engine system that provides blowthrough air and exhaust gas recirculation to an intake passage via a first exhaust manifold and exhaust gas to an exhaust passage via a second exhaust manifold. In one example, an amount of opening overlap between a plurality of intake valves and a first set of exhaust valves coupled to the first exhaust manifold may be adjusted responsive to a transition from an estimated combustion air-fuel content to a leaner air-fuel content of the blowthrough air on a cylinder to cylinder basis. As one example, the transition may be determined from an output of an oxygen sensor positioned within the first exhaust manifold or an exhaust runner of each of the first set of exhaust valves.

As one example, the engine operating condition may include an engine temperature or a temperature of a catalyst disposed in the exhaust passage.

In one example, while both a first exhaust valve and second exhaust valve of a cylinder are open, intake air may be routed through a flow passage coupled between the intake passage and the first exhaust manifold, the first exhaust manifold coupled to the first exhaust valve. The intake air may be further routed through the first exhaust valve, into the cylinder, and out of the second exhaust valve to the second exhaust manifold coupled to the exhaust passage including a turbine.

The select engine operating conditions may include one or more of a deceleration fuel shut-off condition, a part throttle condition, and a cold start condition.
