The present invention relates to a method for tracking the motion of a subject in real time and for correcting a medical image. The method includes the steps of: (a) a motion detection module outputting real-time motion information of a subject; (b) a motion calculation module receiving and analyzing the real-time motion information, transforming the analyzed result into triaxial motion parameters, and outputting the triaxial motion parameters; (c) a driving module driving a driving motor in response to the triaxial motion parameters; and (d) a medical image data acquisition module moving by as much as the subject moves in response to the driving of the driving motor. According to the present invention, medical image data can be acquired as if a subject has not moved during imaging by calculating the triaxial motion parameters of a subject through motion information acquired from the motion detection module and moving the medical image data acquisition module according to the triaxial motion parameters. Therefore, the acquisition of an erroneous sample due to the movement of the subject can be minimized, and the precision of the medical image can be improved by simultaneously moving the medical image data acquisition module in real time according to the movement of the subject.

A method and system for model-based fusion of pre-operative image data and intra-operative fluoroscopic images is disclosed. A fluoroscopic image and an ultrasound image are received. The ultrasound image is mapped to a 3D coordinate system of a fluoroscopic image acquisition device used to acquire the fluoroscopic image. Contours of an anatomical structure are detected in the ultrasound image, and a transformation is calculated between the ultrasound image and a pre-operative CT image based on the contours and a patient-specific physiological model extracted from the pre-operative CT image. A final mapping is determined between the CT image and the fluoroscopic image based on the transformation between the ultrasound image and physiological model and the mapping of the ultrasound image to the 3D coordinate system of the fluoroscopic image acquisition device. The CT image or the physiological model can then be projected into the fluoroscopic image.

A three-dimensional region of interest (ROI) is established with a high degree of accuracy, by a simple method without increasing a burden on the operator, in generating a three-dimensional projected image from medical volume data according to rendering, achieving more efficient interpretation of three-dimensional image and streamlining of diagnostic flow, with the use of the diagnostic image generation apparatus. An energy map is generated on a predetermined tomographic plane, assuming a preset start point as a reference and searching for a path that minimizes the energy, and then the path is set as a boundary of the three-dimensional ROI. The start point may be decided on the basis of the boundary inputted by a user, or the user may set the start point. The user may be allowed to adjust the boundary having been set. The boundary may also be determined on another plane orthogonal to the predetermined tomographic plane.
