Abstract:
The present invention involves a system and method of remotely detecting the presence of a wafer comprising, a passive RFID circuit, wherein the RFID circuit is attached to an end of a transfer arm located inside a vacuum chamber of an ion implantation system, a reader located outside the vacuum chamber, and wherein the RFID tag provides an indication relating to whether or not a wafer is secured by the transfer arm.
Abstract:
In the present invention, copper interconnection with metal caps is extended to the post-passivation interconnection process. Metal caps may be aluminum. A gold pad may be formed on the metal caps to allow wire bonding and testing applications. Various post-passivation passive components may be formed on the integrated circuit and connected via the metal caps.
Abstract:
A magnetic storage system includes a disk, a head, an actuator, a read channel, and a main controller. The main controller causes the head to read a data block of a selected track of the disk at each of a plurality of fixed offsets from a center of the selected track. The main controller samples a gain in the read channel a plurality of times while the head is reading the data block at each of the plurality of fixed offsets to obtain a plurality of gain samples for each of the plurality of fixed offsets. If the data block was written off-track with a non-constant offset, the main controller determines an approximate starting position and an approximate rate of change of an off-track deviation of the data block based on the plurality of gain samples for the plurality of fixed offsets.
Abstract:
A signal transmission apparatus for external electronic devices is located on and coupled with a power supply. One end of the signal transmission apparatus that is coupled with the power supply is connected to a control signal input and output unit through a signal transmission line. The opposite end has a plug to connect to an external electronic device. Through the line integration of the signal transmission apparatus, an electric and signal transmission line can be directly connected to the external electronic device to provide required electricity and control signals.
Abstract:
A system and method for increasing entity bean performance in an application server environment. The system reduces the need for multiple or unnecessary queries by formulating a join query for the related beans and applying this query to the database. When a request is made to a database to read or retrieve a set of EJB beans, related beans are simultaneously retrieved and stored in a cache. In this manner, when the client sends a request for any of these related beans, they can be supplied from the cache rather than making another call to the database.
Abstract:
A technique to implement software debugging capability using breakpoints includes creating breakpoints, storing them in a watchlist, and paging out a virtual address (VA) to physical address (PA) page entry in a translation look-aside buffer (TLB). When software under test is run at full speed, memory is accessed via the TLB VA to PA page translations. When a translation is missing, an exception is generated. Handling the exception includes determining if the page missing from the TLB matches a breakpoint address in the watchlist. The address and operation type are compared to the watchlist. If the operation matches the address and not the specified data, then the software under test is single stepped, the TLB page is removed and the software under test continues to execute. If the breakpoint and data type matches, then a debugger is notified and debugger action to service the breakpoint occurs.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses an overload protection control mechanism for a power supply, wherein a control mechanism installed between two connectors automatically switches the DC power states of the output signal of the overload protection circuit according to the electric connection state between two connectors. Thereby, the present invention not only can prevent the user, who lacks the knowledge of the overload protection circuit, from incorrectly operating the overload protection circuit but also can protect electronic devices from the damage induced by that an unintended touch switches the overload protection circuit erroneously.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program apparatus, implementing techniques for publishing, subscribing to, or playing live appliances. A live appliance includes a current virtual machine image. In publishing, a proxy file of a live appliance file type is provided to the publisher. The type is mapped to a live appliance player; so that when a proxy file is opened, the current virtual machine image is run. The player automatically binds a writeable file system external to the virtual machine image to the image to provide file storage that is accessible from within the virtual machine image and from a host operating system. The player also creates a subscription to the live appliance on the host computer if one does not exist when the proxy file is run. With the subscription, the player runs the then-current virtual machine image whenever the live appliance is run.
