Abstract:
A therapeutic system for massage comprises a massage device having an activation cell comprising a hollow pocket at least partially filled with a ferro-magnetic fluid, a permanent magnet suspended in the ferro-magnetic fluid, a coil of electrically-conductive material in proximity to the pocket, and a connection interface to connect the coil to a source of varying voltage and current, and a power source of varying voltage for connecting to the connection interface to drive the activation cell.
Abstract:
A sequential compression and temperature therapy blanket with a plurality of air chambers is disclosed. The air chambers are filled and released by a valve assembly that may be separate from or integrated within the blanket. The temperature therapy blanket includes a fluid bladder for delivering hot and/or cold therapy to a patient. The temperature therapy blanket may also include an air bladder for providing compression. This Abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an Abstract that allows a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain subject matter of the technical disclosure. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
Abstract:
A vaginal probe, and method of use is disclosed for stimulation of the nerves of the vagina with the purpose of testing their reaction to stimuli in the hope of defining, and treating sexual dysfunction in women. One embodiment of the invention (20) includes a shaft (22) adapted to be inserted into the genetalia of a human female. The shaft (22) includes a stop (24), presented as a thickening of the shaft (22). The probe (20) includes at least one stimulation area (26, 28) defined on a portion of the shaft (22) so that only a selected portion of the genetalia is stimulated. The shaft (22) may have sensors for measuring the reaction of the nerves to stimulation, and the stimulation areas (26, 28) may stimulate the nerves of the vagina using temperature, vibration, electricity, and/or pressure.
Abstract:
An electronic massage device with cold/hot compress function includes an eccentric wheel driven by a motor to rotate and thereby generates vibration, a thermoelectric module used to provide the cold or heat source needed by the cold or hot compress, respectively, a cooling fan used to exhaust extra hot air generated during cold compress, and a set of thermoswitches used to control the hot compress temperature. The massage device may be used to soothe general body impairments through sports by cold compress alone or by hot compress together with massage.
Abstract:
High-resolution, selective, and self-optimizing haptic and electrotactile display and methods of use. In an embodiment of a feedback system referenced herein, the feedback system includes a prosthesis configured to be worn by an individual, including at least one prosthesis sensor configured to detect a state or condition in an environment of the at least one prosthesis sensor, and at least one actuator in communication with the at least one prosthesis sensor and configured to receive data relating to the detected state or condition and to stimulate a nerve of the individual; a neural sensor positioned upon or within the individual, configured to detect a neural response relating to the stimulation of the nerve by the at least one actuator; and a processor in communication with at least one of the at least one prosthesis sensor, at least one of the at least one actuator, and the neural sensor.
Abstract:
Apparatus for automatic delivery of chest compressions and ventilation to a patient. The apparatus includes a chest compressing device configured to deliver compression phases during which pressure is applied to compress the chest and decompression phases during which approximately zero pressure is applied to the chest a ventilator configured to deliver positive, negative, or approximately zero pressure to the airway; control circuitry and processor, wherein the circuitry and processor are configured to cause the chest compressing device to repeatedly deliver a set containing a plurality of systolic flow cycles, each systolic flow cycle including a systolic decompression phase and a systolic compression phase, and at least one diastolic flow cycle interspersed between sets of systolic flow cycles, each diastolic flow cycle including a diastolic decompression phase and a diastolic compression phase, wherein the diastolic decompression phase is substantially longer than the systolic decompression phase.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a massaging device, which includes an outer housing defining a first opening; a negative pressure generator received in the outer housing; and a driving assembly received in the outer housing, the drive assembly is configure to drive the negative pressure generator to generate alternating positive and negative pressures at the first opening. The massaging device of present disclosure has a better massaging effect.
Abstract:
An excitation device, preferably including: stimulation units; a sensor; a processor configured to control the stimulation units; a power module configured to power excitation device components; and a housing configured to house the other excitation device components and to couple the excitation device to a user. A control device, preferably including one or more outputs and a housing. A method for sexual stimulation, preferably including: sampling measurements, determining actuation parameters, and actuating stimulation units.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a practical method for treating atopic dermatitis. By subjecting patients suffering from atopic dermatitis to filtered temperature controlled laminar air flow disease symptoms have been significantly reduced and even removed. The velocity of the laminar air flow is balanced such that body convections are braked without the generation of draught.
Abstract:
A device for applying electrical stimulation to a surface of the human body utilizes a calibrated, pre-arranged pattern of conducting, current emitting elements to distribute current throughout an entire surface at once, such as human face, without needing to alter the device to accommodate various are sizes, including varying face sizes.
