Abstract:
A coating device having an applicator roll which forms an application slot with the backup roll which conducts the web of material. Adjoining the applicator slot is a pressure space which is formed at the outlet side of the application slot and between the applicator roll and the backup roll. A flexible guide wall having a shape which approximates or is adapted to the surface of the backup roll and/or can be adapted thereto by the Coanda effect itself, which wall forms a narrow slot along the web of material downstream from the pressure space. The wall is at such a slight distance away from the web that the formation of drips or streaks in the applied coating by the centrifugal force is excluded. The dosaging place for the final dosaging is formed by a dosaging doctor.
Abstract:
An improved process is provided for treating a porous web (especially fabric) to produce a novel silicone polymer internally coated web. In the process, a starting curable liquid silicone polymer is coated under pressure upon one surface of the web, and the web is then subjected to localized shear forces sufficient to move the silicone polymer composition into interior portions of the web and to distribute the silicone polymer composition generally uniformly therwithin in such planar region. Excess silicone polymer composition is wiped away from a web surface. Thereafter, the resulting web is heated or irradiated to cure the silicone polymer. Preferably a web is preliminarily impregnated with a fluorochemical. Webs procuded by this process are breathable, waterproof or highly water repellent, and flexible.
Abstract:
A flame resistant to nonflammable composite panel is produced from a nonextrudable core mixture with a pourable, nonflammable filling material and a binder, and on both sides cover strips flexibly bonded to the core. For a continuous production of the composite panel in one operation, the core mixture is poured onto an inrunning lower cover strip, in contact with a lower adhesive film facing the core mixture, and a pile is formed there, extending over the entire width of the adhesive film, both continuously and uniformly drawn through a V gap and compacted there for the first time and calibrated to thickness, an upper adhesive film, upwardly limiting the precompacted core mixture, is fed in and brought into contact with a continuously fed cover strip and the sandwich is pressed with further compaction, heated, cooled and cut to the final length of the composite panel. The apparatus for carrying out the process preferably comprises a double-belt press for the concluding pressing and heating, for maintaining the temperature and for cooling.
Abstract:
The wallpaper pasting apparatus characterized in that the wallpaper pasting apparatus is provided with a pasting roller and a pressing guide for pressing the wallpaper against the upper surface thereof, by a plurality of levelling plate means having edge wavy grooves for adjusting the thickness of the paste layer transferred onto the wallpaper. This apparatus has a simple structure and a light weight, and permits easy and accurate adjustment of the thickness of the paste layer.

Abstract:
In a device for alternatively one- or double-sided coating of a running paper web the final evening-out of the coating is made in a smoothing nip including a first roll and a counter member. The device includes means for leading the web from below upwards into the smoothing nip. At a considerable distance before the smoothing nip, there is a coating substance applicator including an applicator chamber, where the coating substance is brought into a substantially non-pressurized contact with the running web for adhering thereto and travelling therewith upwards to the smoothing nip. The web moves linearly from the applicator to the smoothing nip.

Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus for use in coating and possibly impregnating fabric webs with a coating compound. The apparatus utilizes a magnetic element or cylinder, located on a first side of a fabric web, to attract a magnetically attractable squeegee device, located on a second side of the fabric web, into contact with the fabric web. A second squeegee device or a cylinder is mounted against the magnetic eleemtn and is also located on the first side of the fabric web. This second squeegee device is also located such that when the first squeegee device is attracted toward and contacts the fabric web, the fabric web comes into contact with the second squeegee device, thus providing that the fabric web will be contacted on both sides with equal pressure by the respective squeegee devices.
