Also disclosed is an electrochemical element having a protective layer covering at least one electrode, which layer is prepared from the ceramic green sheet indicated above, and has a multiplicity of planar or elongate pores corresponding to the planar or elongate flakes included in the green sheet. A method of producing the electrochemical element is also disclosed.

The biaxial stack is fired to produce a ceramic structure.
