    Abstract: Drop detection are disclosed. An example liquid dispensing device includes a controller to control dispensing of a first drop from a first orifice and a second drop from a second orifice, a sensor to monitor the first orifice to detect at least one of a presence or an absence of a drop from the first orifice and, in response to the sensor detecting an absence of the first drop, the controller is to classify the first orifice as at least one of occluded or non-functioning.

    Abstract: In one example, a drop detector includes a light source for illuminating drops passing through a drop zone, multiple light detectors near the light source for detecting light scattered off drops passing through the drop zone, and multiple lenses each configured to focus light from the drop zone on one of the light detectors. In one example, each light detector is arranged in the same plane with all of the other light detectors. In one example, the lenses are configured to focus light from two different spaces in the drop zone on different detectors or groups of detectors. In one example, the lenses are configured to focus light from a single space in the drop zone on multiple detectors.

    Abstract: Microfluidic systems are provided for the detection and analysis of cell systems that can include a set of reservoirs, the set of reservoirs including a reagent reservoir and an immiscible fluid reservoir, an incubation region having an inlet and an outlet, a set of independent fluidic networks, the set of independent fluidic networks including a first fluidic network and a second fluidic network that is not fluidically connected to the first fluidic network, wherein the first fluidic network (1) is fed by the set of reservoirs, (2) includes a droplet generator, and (3) connects to the inlet of the incubation region, and wherein the second fluidic network is connected to the outlet of the incubation region.

    Abstract: An example device includes a microfluidic channel and a movable element retained in the microfluidic channel to move from a first position to a second position by fluid flow through the microfluidic channel. The device includes a sensor to take a sensor reading to determine fluid flow through the microfluidic channel. The device includes a microfluidic pump to return the movable element from the second position to the first position. The device includes a controller to actuate the microfluidic pump and to determine a flow rate of the fluid flow through the microfluidic channel based on the sensor reading.
