    摘要: A touch panel display configured to improve touch panel detection for sensor panels embedded in display modules. Touch panel detection can be improved by arranging an optically anisotropic cover over a display module within which an optical sensor panel is embedded. Since the optically anisotropic cover comprises light-guiding channels through which light is guided by total internal reflection, the cover can effectively shift the sensor plane from an outer surface of the cover, near the location of an object to be detected, to an inner surface of the cover, near the location of the sensor panel. In additional, the optically anisotropic cover can effectively shift the image plane from the inner surface of the cover, near the display module, to the outer surface of the cover, near the viewing surface.

    摘要: The use of one or more proximity sensors alone or in combination with one or more touch sensors in a multi-touch panel to detect the presence of a finger, body part or other object and control or trigger one or more functions in accordance with an “image” of touch provided by the sensor outputs is disclosed. In some embodiments, one or more infrared (IR) proximity sensors can be driven with a specific stimulation frequency and emit IR light from one or more areas, which can in some embodiments correspond to “pixel” locations. The reflected IR signal, if any, can be demodulated using synchronous demodulation.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process for controlling the change of intrinsic viscosity and transesterification during solid stating of a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) blend, with an effective amount of an alkylene glycol compound. The process enables the production of a copolymer based on predefined initial and final IV's and final transesterification level, by varying the solid-stating time and/or effective amount of alkylene glycol. In one embodiment, a relatively greater amount of post-consumer PET (e.g., 70%) having an IV of on the order of 0.72-0.73, is incorporated in the blend to provide a final IV on the order of 0.80-0.85, and a moderate, controlled level of transesterification; the blend is used to injection mold a sleeve layer of a preform. In another embodiment, a substantially transparent neck finish for a preform is made from a PEN/PET blend having an amount of alkylene glycol which enables substantial transesterification, without excessive increase in IV.

    摘要: In order to provide a substrate such as an optical preform rod (24) which suitable for insertion into a tube and which has a transverse cross section that is substantially circular and disposed concentrically about a longitudinal axis of the substrate substantially along its entire length, a force-applying means such as a graphite roller (52) is adapted to be moved incrementally toward an axis of rotation (35) about which the preform rod is turned rotatably. Movement is discontinued when there is an indication that the force-applying means has been in continuous engagement with the preform rod for at least a predetermined portion of the periphery of the rod. In a preferred embodiment, the engagement of the force-applying means and the preform rod is discontinued after a predetermined time whereafter the force-applying means again is moved toward the axis of rotation. Cycles of engagement and disengagement are continued as relative motion is caused between the force-applying means and the preform rod in a direction along the axis of rotation.
