Abstract:
A set of data is received containing values associated with respective data points, the values associated with each of the data points being characterized by a distribution. The values for each of the data points are expressed in a form that includes information about a distribution of the values for each of the data points. The distribution information is used in clustering the set of data with at least one other set of data containing values associated with data points.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for identifying a local domain for a data packet received at an interface through a network are described herein. In one aspect of the invention, an exemplary method includes extracting the network protocol information from the data packet, determining a local domain ID based on multiple layers of network protocol information simultaneously, and assigning the local domain ID to the data packet. Other methods and systems are also described.

A formulation for a animal vaccines is provided. The vaccine formulation contains a stabilizer component and a viral immunogen. The stabilizer component includes a substantially TSE/BSE-safe animal-based protein and a vegetable-based protein. The stabilizer component provides for the stabilization of a vaccine throughout its storage and administration.

Abstract:
A solid state amplifier for a microwave transmitter includes a power divider wherein a signal to be amplified is divided into signals of equal signal levels. The equal level signals are respectively coupled to a plurality of amplifiers wherefrom the amplified signals are coupled to a combiner wherein the amplified signals are added and signal sum provided at an output terminal of the combiner. Each of the amplifiers may be comprised of a first stage amplifier, the output signal of which is coupled to a multiplicity of component amplifiers which, in tern, are coupled to a the output terminal of the first stage amplifier via a second power divider wherefrom signals of equal level are provided to the component amplifiers. Bias voltages are provided to the amplifiers via a modularized power supply having some modules with redundant converters.
Abstract:
A 180.degree. hybrid receptive of a fundamental frequency signal which may be adjusted over a range of frequencies produces the fundamental frequency signal at two output ports phased 180.degree. apart. Each of the output ports is coupled to a non-linear active device which produces the fundamental frequency and odd and even harmonics thereof. A 180.degree. and 0.degree. hybrid is coupled to receive at respective input ports the signal from the active devices and to produce at one output port all the odd harmonics and to produce at the other output port all of the even harmonics of the fundamental frequency. The even and odd harmonics of the fundamental frequency appearing at the two output ports of the 0.degree. and 180.degree. hybrid are isolated from one another.
Abstract:
A variable-gain, constant output power amplifier which generates an output rf signal of constant power level in response to an input rf signal of varying power level. The amplifier gain is preadjusted by a plurality of feedforward automatic-gain-control circuits to provide the constant output power. The amplifier comprises five dual-gate MESFET signal-amplifying stages. The first and last stages do not have built-in automatic-gain-control. The first stage is provided for preamplification prior to sampling the input signal, and the last stage is provided for setting the level of the output power externally. The signal at the input of each of the middle three stages is sampled through a coupler and detected and processed at video frequencies to dynamically preadjust the gain of the next signal-amplifying stage.
Abstract:
A 0.degree. and 180.degree. hybrid power divider/combiner includes a first quadrature hybrid and two other quadrature hybrids arranged in tandem with one output port of the first hybrid connected to an input port of the tandem arrangement and the other output port thereof connected to a delay of electrical length equal to that of the tandem arrangement. When an input signal is applied to one input port of the first hybrid with the other port terminated, two signals of reduced amplitude which are either in phase or of opposed phase (dependent on which input port receives the input signal) are produced at the output of the tandem arrangement and delay.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for global server load balancing in a communication network using a global site selector and an application control engine in communication with the global site selector, in which the application control engine notifies the global site selector in response to a state change for a virtual internet protocol (VIP) address. Keepalive methods generally rely on periodically polling VIP addresses to check whether they are in an ONLINE or OFFLINE state. A minimum interval between two keepalives can be as long as 40 seconds, during which, without a mechanism to reflect state change to the load balancer in real time, if a VIP address changes state (e.g., VIP address failure), a customer can experience network outage during the time interval. Embodiments provide a mechanism to reflect, in real time, the current VIP address state to a global server load balancer to reduce failure detection time.
Abstract:
An integrated microwave transistor amplifier includes a AlGaN/GaN active transistor arrangement on a thinned Si 1-mil heat spreader. Elongated, plated-through vias extend from the source portions of the transistor arrangement through the spreader to a thick gold supporting layer. A matching circuit is defined on a four-mil GaAs substrate, also with a thick gold support layer. A stepped heat sink supports the matching circuit and the active transistor with surfaces coplanar. Bond wires interconnect the matching circuit with the gate or drain connections of the transistor.
