    Abstract: A computer-implemented method for automatically controlling the charging of an energy storage system in an electric heavy-duty vehicle is provided. The method comprises determining, by a processor device of a computer system, a level of ECO-driving of the heavy-duty vehicle, determining, by the processor device, a level of battery aging of the at least one battery pack in the energy storage system of the heavy-duty vehicle, wherein said determination is based on a battery model, determining, by the processor device, a maximum allowable charging condition of the at least one battery pack, wherein the determination is 10 based on the level of ECO-driving and the level of aging of the battery pack and controlling the charging of the at least one battery pack based on the maximum allowable charging condition in order to control the aging of the battery pack.

    Abstract: A method for controlling operation of a vehicle. The method includes: providing information on geographical position of a first (starting) location and a second (destination) location and on length and topography for at least one possible route to be taken by the vehicle from the first location to the second location; calculating, based on vehicle conditions and on length and topography for the at least one possible route, a plan for how to control the powertrain system to achieve an energy efficient performance of the powertrain system if driving the vehicle along said at least one possible route. The method further includes: setting the vehicle in a non-drive off mode that prevents the vehicle from driving off from the first location, and setting the vehicle in a normal operation mode that allows drive off from the first location when calculating the plan has been carried out.

    Abstract: A device and a method for controlling vehicle speed in a vehicle equipped with brake cruise control when the vehicle is travelling downhill are provided. The method involves driving a vehicle downhill with the brake set speed set to a first brake set speed; detecting a current vehicle speed; automatically applying a brake torque using at least an auxiliary brake to maintain the first brake set speed; and detecting a manual application of a vehicle service brake, in order to decrease vehicle speed. If a control unit detects that the driver is applying the service brake, then the control unit is automatically arranged to set the brake set speed to a second brake set speed that is lower than the first brake set speed; and to apply a brake torque using at least the auxiliary brake if a detected current vehicle speed exceeds the second brake set speed.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling a platoon (10) of vehicles (1, X), wherein the platoon (10) comprises a leading vehicle (1) and at least one following vehicle (X) following the leading vehicle (1), wherein the leading and the following vehicle (1, X) at least to a certain extent are commonly controlled by a platoon control system (500) so as to drive at a common speed, wherein the method comprises the steps of: —transmitting data (200) from each vehicle (1, X) to the control system (500) comprising information on a current maximum engine torque output and a potential maximum torque output of respective vehicle (1, X); —identifying (300) which one of the lead and the at least one following vehicle (1, X) that limits an average speed (Va) of the platoon (10); and —increasing (400) the setting of the maximum engine torque output for the vehicle (1, X) identified to limit the average speed (Va) of the platoon (10).
